Xtina addressed it like in 2003-2004 live on TRL she sent a public message to Kelly Clarkson about it--that the shady producers/writers in a very shady way gave the song away before Xtina could finish it (probably would have been for Stripped or Back to Basics possibly) but that Christina was glad that if anything that it went to Kelly; and that she gave the song justice.
