I think it's so interesting the different generations ideas of playing video games. As long as you aren't spending all day playing video games in your mom's basement then it's the same thing as watching TV or KZbin. It's just a way to cure boredom or relax after a stressful day of work.

Complaining about gaming is a huge red flag, unless the other person has some sort of an addiction. Trying to control what your partner is allowed to do is not normal. Gaming was considered childish back when I was born, because adults hadn't grown up with video games and refused to learn. They had no problem with traditional card games or tabletop games. Also, a few tips for all the player haters: if you suggest doing something together and refuse to play with your partner, then "I don't know" isn't a good answer to "Ok, what would you like to do?" And if you do figure out something to do, try to make it interesting for both parties.
