Also other countries don't see racism as USA or some few others do. Segregation was huge in USA, but in most of countries people don't even know what that was. In Korea they only had common acess to black culture in the last 20 to 30 years thanks to pop culture. In Brazil was common to mix races since the beginning of colonization because the first people to come here were mostly single mans to work and not full white families like USA, so they used to procreate with natives and slaves. In the majority of Europe there was something similar to USA, but it was never a law, it was mostly about social class.... so when you see a black woman standing and the white girls sitting for me (a brazillian) looks more like something powerful and made to call more attention to her than something bad. But I get why they thought it looked bad, but is just a cultural difference.

Larissa (actual name) or Leia (stage name) is the Brazilian member. Yes she is only Brazilian, she is from Japanese decent. In Brazil there are a lot of people that decent from differents countries. For example in my case I'm Brazilian and that is my nationality, but in the side of my father the family is German and Spanish decent and in the side of my mother my grandfather was Portuguese born in Brazil (he had Brazilian nationality but Portuguese parents) and my grandmother was a mix between black from Portuguese colonies, white (probably Portuguese as well) and native American (Brazilian native)

Exactly, brazilians are almost always mixed, and like you said, her mother must also be mixed, so she is even more mixed than people think, but that is not a thing people think about in Brazil, in the end she is just brazilian.

That being sad it's not clear if Leia chose to have the Brazilian citizenship or Japanese because according to Japanese laws you can't have two citizenships, so she will have to chose it at some point.

I'm as hyped about the multiculturalism as everyone else, but no one seems to be appreciating the actual song or choreography in this video. Their moves are so together and sharp, once they really get going they really are going to be a problem; Especially as this is the first video they've released as Blackswan.

I'm praying they don't do the foreign members dirty like they did last time and they learned. Even now they seem to be doing better at least in terms of screen time, but gonna pray they do this right because if they do they are going to be the trend setters we needed. I can see the issue with the water cooler and I think it would have been better if they just focused on a close up rather than a wide show with all the girls. You can make it a race thing or not but imo that's how you should highlight a member singing if they have few lines, regardless of race.

I thought the same thing when I saw that part in the M/V and it's mainly because of what happened to Alex Reid (previous black girl in the group). But it is a good debut or rebrand. I saw a live performance where Fatou was dancing from beginning to end, so at least it looks like the company is doing better. I wish them the best.
