You can make a very good living doing this, but there’s several steps you need to take to make it to that level, two big ones in my opinion is having enough space for a spray booth, you can literally paint an entire dresser in 20 mins, as where it takes a few hours with brushing and rolling, also a store front would be a huge step towards making a successful living flipping furniture. I’m on my way to these two steps, first getting a spray booth set up.

@@bibiguajardo2495 I flipped my first piece while pregnant with my now 4 year old. I mainly would work during nap time and in the evening when my husband was home but while my babies were small they were happy to watch from their bouncer or swing. I made sure to use safe products and pick smaller projects because I would do a lot of them in my kitchen. When my babies got more mobile things got harder and I had to baby gate them away from the projects but you just find ways to make it work. Being mom all day to little people is hard on it’s own! I’m an artist/Art Therapist. I flipped one piece successfully. It was an old pier 1 maple coffee table I’d owned. I used a dremel to “draw” markings/doodles and then painted the top. I think I underpriced it because I carried it into a friend’s booth at an Art/flea market and it literally sold immediately to someone who saw me carrying it in. This was a few years ago. I’ve recently purchased brushes, clay/chalk based paints (Debi’s DIY and Dixie Bell)... and looking forward to painting and hopefully posting some videos too.

Adding water - SMH - why not add what should be added to minimize brush strokes, which is a flow control additive you can get at any major HW store or big box home store. plus why you're not spraying is rather mind boggling And then your hardware - there's nothing wrong with the hardware - it's the install. You should have done all that BEFORE you did your finish. they would have been dead on perfectly spaced/centered/square. Don't blame the hardware for bad planning/install on your part

Thanks so much for sharing all your amazing wisdom! So wonderful to have such a wealth of info available while getting started learning a new skill, particularly one as initially intimidating as restoring/flipping furniture! I’ve been loving getting into as a hobby/creative outlet but also as an unexpected saving grace source of income that’s kept me afloat through tumultuous times. Everything I flipped I’ve gotten for free, many I simply found put out on the curb as trash. I think my best find so far was a scratched up pair of leather high back chairs that definitely started out looking pretty rough but after pouring some serious tlc into the leather and shining up brass detailing I hadn’t even seen was there below all the grody they turned out kinda gorgeous I have to say and they sold right away to a couple who was THRILLED to have them for “only $600”! I have a crazy cool old orange velvet wicker armchair I am working on bringing back to its former glory and Considering it making it my first attempt at painting fabric furniture.. The thought is equally enticing and terrifying!

Hi Christina - I LOVE that you are giving shout outs to those who are driven to flip furniture to pay down debt of some kind. I want to not only pay down my student loans, but also help fund my move cross country later this year back to AZ from TX. I started painting furniture about a year after I moved to TX in 2015. I have done some great pieces for my home and really turned my home into “MY HOME” I created from my own hands and I LOVE IT! Over the years I have used many other paint lines and once I found Dixie Belle, I WAS HOOKED! The self leveling the paint offers is incredible! I am considering becoming a retailer (selling on my website once I launch it for my furniture flipping), I just completed my largest transformative project of a 3 piece antique bedroom set (OF COURSE WITH DIXIE BELLE) and oh my goodness...it’s GORGEOUS! I feel like I have turned into a female version of the Ms. Lowes or Ms. Home Depot - I have a full on tool shop (my she shed) of saw horses, elec sanders, different pieces of furniture I am going to flip ..my very own tools that I transform pieces of furniture that need some TLC to a whole new look. I have had MULTIPLE people tell me my work looks done by a “professional” and I should sell it...I have said no to it as I thought it take away the JOY of the process..but now I have a purpose behind it. I have been a follower of yours for some time and you make things so easy to follow and anyone can learn from you if they watch, take notes and give it a try and try again until they have it down. Thanks for all you do to help myself and others learn to be better at our craft! From one SOON TO BE - Furniture Flipper for Profit to another Furniture Flipper - I think you Christina :)

Love the work and the outcome, but it boggles the mind to see how much cheaper the supplies and gear are compared to my country (Germany). :/

Really good job I have a suggestion - you said the screws were hard to screw in but I noticed the drill bit wasn’t centred correctly so this could have been why it was wobbly and not the most accurate but other than that I’m really inspire to start flipping, I’ve been in the wood industry years but only recently got into flipping

I started flipping furniture a month ago for extra money and I love it. I’ve learned so much from your channel and the Dixie Belle channel. Thank you so much! Great job! Love these end tables! 💜

I have to get all my Dixie belle products from Etsy because the Dixie Belle website won't ship to my address in CA lol

Love these! I recently started flipping furniture to help us pay out mortgage. So I am a newbie. I've only used Dixie Belle products because the first time I used them, I was addicted!

That's a solid recommendation! As a newbie too - working on my first flip now - I haven't tried Dixie Belle but my first order is on the way!!!

I really want to start flipping furniture but my husband won’t allow me to buy any tools or paints. We came from a patriarchal society so if someone can provide me with necessary tools and paints I can start some earnings .

Nice work!....But a garage is for cars ya know?....Insanity how people are buying and building huge expensive homes and filling their garage up with junk instead of parking their 50K cars in them....You just can't make this stuff up....
