Harbor freight has an orbital sander for $25, get the 5amp hour battery and a rapid charger comes up just under $100, pay for the 2 year warranty on each and when they fry. It's super easy to just replace. Of course, it's better to go with a corded sander if you can, but with battery works for me, it lasts about 3 hours in constant use. I also have a drimel tool with the detail sanding attachment that is corded and make my life much more blissful on the smaller details.

One thing KZbinrs rarely mention is that just because something is marketed as disposable doesn’t mean you can’t wash it and reuse it. Foam brushes, foam rollers and roller trays can be used dozens of times, if you have access to water.

Dang...I don't have access to any water.
@adamnichols242129 күн бұрын
Might just clean off in the local river

Additionally If you wash the foam rollers rollthem gently against the bottom of a smooth sink until clean, they rip easily if you twist them or accidentally gouge woth your nails.

Measurements of the furniture is huge! Also make sure you get the entire piece of furniture in the picture. Constantly I am able to find terrible pictures and people wonder why they were stuff does not sell because it was people have no idea what the heck they are looking at. Also went on marketplace make sure you post it in the right area that cannot be stressed enough do not post a dresser in the appliance section. If your furniture is not selling it’s most likely because of something you’re doing. Go back and look it over and figure out what you could be doing better. Another thing to stress is patients. Another thing to stress is do not go low after only a couple days of posting your piece. You want your piece online and that’s to say that you’ve done everything correctly before posting it do you wanna online for a good couple weeks three weeks I would say before even thinking about taking a lower offer. People will always try to haggle that’s fine. I do it all the time but I’m also very aware of how long the thing that I want has been posted. I’m not gonna ask somebody to come down on the price if they just posted their item or it’s only been up a couple days. Not only is it tacky but it’s rude. Charge a delivery fee if you have a truck a lot of people don’t have ways of getting there items and will pay a reasonable fee within a short radius. There’s a lot that goes into selling and it’s possible for anyone but it comes down to basic common sense and unfortunately the majority doesn’t have it. Have fun flipping
@Quickdraw11117 ай бұрын
It seems most of the couch flipping videos say to deliver it for free (instead of charging a delivery fee), so you will have an advantage over other people selling furniture.

I would recommend skipping the hand sanding only part and go ahead and buy a cheap orbital sander to get into it. it will definitely be worth it even in the beginning and you'll be a lot more efficient and can buy a really nice sander after making some cash

Awesome tips, quick correction though. There's no such thing as "paint & primer". I work at a paint store and it's just an industry used marketing phrase. Even if a paint markets itself as paint and primer it's just paint. You can use your paint AS a primer, but it is NOT primer and it does NOT have primer "mixed in". Paint and primers are like two sides of a velcro strap

Yeah, I agree, I hate cell towers. It is hard to live or work almost anywhere nowadays without a cell tower nearby. To be honest, I'd rather go back to the old days without cellphones. And not only because of the radiation, but because of less human interaction & less living life because of people with their face stuck staring at their phone screens all the time.

I can’t get over how many videos about starting a flipping business never mentions the importance of reporting income. Keeping track of expenses and sales and also checking into the guidelines of where you live and what the laws are when bringing in extra income. Not all states are the same as I have found out. But to give off the wrong impression like this is just free income without any reporting is pretty irresponsible. Definitely make sure you’re within your state guidelines on what is necessary going forward in reporting this income on taxes.
@rubietaseff8175 Жыл бұрын
I’m puzzle, 😮 since when have they passed laws about extra income? I mean I’ve worked up to four jobs before just to pay the bills so this is a legitimate question are there laws about side gains?
@opossum632 Жыл бұрын
I wish you’d mention that you can’t just “paint” the furniture. You need to be good at painting or it’s gonna look like shit

I love your information but UGH...the music over and over and over again is so distracting. There's a lot of free music available on KZbin, can't you PLEASE either use a longer piece than just a 2 notes and 4 bar repeat repeat repeat? It would make your videos so much better.

I personally Thank it would be a mistake to put my furniture in other people's hands If it fell out of their truck and hit a car that's a lawsuit Furthermore you don't know how the furniture is handled and delivered
@Quickdraw11117 ай бұрын
Yes that's true. But there are people like me that don't have a truck to haul big furniture (such as a couch) around. And also myself and many others have nobody to help us to carry the furniture into houses & apartments. It really takes 2 people to do this. If people in my position want to flip furniture, then we will have to take that risk of the delivery people we hire making mistakes. I have to take all that in to consideration if I choose to do this business. And I also have to factor in paying for storage to keep the furniture, since I live in an apartment.
