Though the end result looks lovely... I'm a bit flabbergasted by absence of structure to prevent deflection in the frame. Combine that with some fasteners being affixed into end-grain and the choice of softwood lumber, and I'd expect it won't be a particularly long-lived design. Hopefully I'm wrong.
