This is super helpful because you don't even need to install epic! You don't even need to know how to use most commands in a windows/linux command line. (But of course, for quality-of-life purposes, knowing how to make a simple batch file is very helpful for quick startup.)

I got battlefront 2 for free through epic but it's tied to origin, and when I attempt to launch it it's looking for an application to handle the epic link. For some less tech savvy out there, you can use GOG Galaxy 2.0 to launch 'em all regardless of platform. It's not perfect, but, better one launcher than 7 (and counting...).

How about cross platform play with stem friends? I worked on making Rising Storm Vietnam compatible with steam, but when launched through stem multiplayer support goes away. The executable has is not the same with extra Epic code...

Danraj Rampersad this isn’t an error, it’s a binary file like linux, you run it via the command prompt like a command. this isn’t an installer or GUI or application. this is all command line based.

Download legendary then just mv legendary to /usr/bin just don't move the exe as that is the windows version.

I already commented this on the other channel, but I'll try again. Can you do a video on a generic solution for the secure boot problem that all the small distros are facing? Ubuntu, Fedora are signed by Microsoft. I'm using Pop!_OS and I have to turn off secure boot. Once I read about this Russian rootkit "Drovorub", I sort of dug somewhat deeper and learnt that secure boot is an essential feature and prevents most rootkits. I've been struggling to get the modules signed with mokutil (Referred debian wiki and rodsbooks). At this point I'm really confused right now. I'm pretty sure you know the standard way signing the modules and securely boot as you have some enterprise level experience. Can you please do a video in this? Thanks.

you don’t install legendary.exe you run it via the command prompt like a command in linux , you use flags to specify stuff , it’s a command line binary not an installer or application .

In my case , it didn't open(the legendary executable) but I messed around and found a fix( i guess) so please pin this if you can to help the others. First I opened cmd prompt AS ADMINISTRATOR and when it opens you can see the path ,( in my case it was C:\WINDOWS\system32) , So I copied legendary.exe to system 32 and then In command prompt, I typed legendary auth and it worked. I got it now, If people from Windows trouble Launching Borderlands 2 offline You need to add --offline command in front of the legendary launch Dodo command Open cmd and type this: legendary launch Dodo --offline Now you can play without internet

I'm happy that with all my noobness I managed to get rid of windows on my laptop, I installed ubuntu at first than even managed to switch to pop os with a clean install. I'm a console user but want to move away from Sony and Microsoft gaming systems and also absolutely hate windows, so I'm happy I managed to get linux going on my pc. Actually until a few days ago I didn't know absolutely nothing about linux or it's existence lol. Now I wanted to get Star Trek online running on pop os but that seems a bit more difficult, since trying to use Steam (that I also created an account just for pc games) I keep getting some DirectX no longer supported type of error, and like I said I'm a noob when dealing with PC stuff. I know people play STO on linux, so it's something I don't know how or my laptop can't handle, maybe. Counter Strike seems to be ok on it though Any suggestion or advice would be greatly appreciated

A small guide for you windows users download the legendary.exe from git hub and open in comand prompt or Power shell in the same folder as you downloaded the legendary.exe then follow the video and replace legendary auth to legendary.exe auth means add .exe end of legendary commands. Reply if you have any questions regarding legendary on windows. Using for gta online.

Funny enough, the Steam launcher is even worse (especially if you are on Windows, where it also tries to compromise the security by all those service installs), which leads to another question - is there any Steam launcher alternative like this, at least for the Unreal Engine apps that, although don't seem to use any encryption etc, still pull out the Steam's DLL even if called from the EXE directly?
