Collegiate Reformed Fellowship is the campus ministry of Christ Church and Trinity Reformed Church in Moscow, Idaho. Our goal is to teach and exhort young men and women to serve, to witness, to stand fast, and to mature in their Christian Faith. We desire to see students get established in a godly lifestyle and a trajectory toward maturity. We also desire to proclaim the Christian worldview to the university population and the surrounding communities. CRF is not an independent ministry. All our activities are supplemental to the teaching and shepherding ministry of CC & TRC. Students involved with CRF are regularly reminded that the most important student ministry takes place at Lord’s Day worship.

“LORD, I thank you that I am not married. Please prepare me for marriage.” That hit hard. Great Sermon, praise God.

A Theology of the Family of Scott . Brown is a good book that would help every family too. It is a recopilations of many texts on various family topics from puritans to few alive theologians. I've only read first parts, but it is really really good.

Thanks for emphasizing the birth control part... It is causing much damage to many. Some don't want to investigate and don't take it seriously, some couples are being physically damaged, some are aborting...

Yes!!!! I only started recently learning about it when doing research on bigPharma. Honestly, nobody should be taking that.

I didn't become a Christian until I was I was in my mid-30s. I feel like I'm too old and damaged now to marry. I wish I married young. I probably will never be married now.

Our Lord is magnified by working through and in spite of our weaknesses, shortcomings, or failures. Our weaknesses provide a stage for God to glorify himself. Read again II Corinthians 12:8-10. Through His providence He orchestrates all things to bring about his own glory (Isaiah 48:11). This is why we see God in the scriptures routinely working through the weak, barren, and insignificant, so His glory can stand in stark contrast from the person or circumstances (1 Corinthians 1:26-30). Don’t despair. Also, some lyrics to a hymn written by John Newton say this: “Everything is needful that he sends; nothing can be needful that he withholds”.

I’ll probably never accumulate enough money and “security” to ever be ready for marriage. I’d rather face the coming economic catastrophe and famine alone.

"This is your brain on Birth control" is a book with some feminism and other garbage in, but it speaks about many pills and their horrible effects in the bodies and minds, and that info is important...

You're bringing up some great points. The book you're referencing is excellent in showing the science but also the effect of feminist thought. Highly recommend.

@@cinnamoninit6028 Yes. It is a big pain to read at the start, as it despises motherhood and babies and has other wicked opinions... I've only read about 1/3. I still want to finish it... It also saddens me of the people near I've seen their effects on...

How much money would a man have to make, reasonably, to be able to have his wife be a stay at home mom and be the primary provider? About how much?
@ChristKirk
@ChristKirk 2 жыл бұрын
Depends on where you live, Mahsen. It has certainly become more difficult in recent years but many families do it. For some it takes more reprioritizing of needs/wants than others, but God is faithful.

@@ChristKirk I just was thinking that there might be a particular annual salary that would be insufficient to provide for a family. You probably couldn’t provide for a family making $12.50 an hour.

@@Mahsen_Hollowell21 Not true, sir. I grew up in Appalachia and in some places $12.50 would have been quite a blessing. And, no one should be so proud as to turn up there nose at living in a trailor. That was all my Dad could afford for many years...but there was always food on the table and clothes on our backs. (May have been a few patches here or there...but it makes me appriciate every blessing God has bestowed since.) God's grace & peace. Maranatha!

It's a hard subject because God creates poor people. But contentment is key. Most people boast of their contentment. But fail to read the book of Job. Blessing and comforts are not promised in this life, but salvation is. And if you are like Lazarus then you will be comforted in death in Christ. The rich man though....

@@Mahsen_Hollowell21 if your monthly margin is $500 more net saved than spent , you’re safe. $200? Might be hard but not impossible. It’s the margin, not the gross income.
