I want to cry! I've been trying to find this for so long! I was beginning to think I imagined it! My Nan and Grandad had this on a REALLY old VHS tape with some other really old cartoons. I always loved this one in particular and loved watching it when I was little. But then I think either the tape broke or just got lost eventually once DVDs came in (I was born in the 90s lol) And I've been searching ever since! I miss my grandparents so much, and this one simple little cartoon has so many happy memories attached to it 💜💜 Thanks so much for uploading it 💜💜

I grew up in the 80s/90s but as a very young child I somehow watched this a few times and has it in my head for 30 years until I just found it today. What a great day. I typed in "poor kids want ice cream". I used to get so sad they were so poor and hungry.

Wow... it's been so long since I've seen this!! I used to watch it when I was a tiny child ☺ I also didn't realize how deep this actually is... I feel like crying. The nostalgia is strong. I'm so happy to be able to find this again!! Everything back then for me was so peaceful and calming, I was just a small child filled with joy. It's different now since I'm older, but the memories forever stay. 💕

I spent my whole childhood never being able to finish this movie because of how old the VHS was that it always "lost picture" but the sounds continue but got creepy after 5 seconds and always reminded the tape to rewatched the clips. But thanks to this I've finally watched the whole movie. I finally know what happened after they woke up in "Dreamland"

I just broke out into tears seeing this as an adult. As a kid I didn’t understand the haves and have nots. I started balling the second they started eating that stale bread. The fact that they dreamed about FOOD made me lose my mind more, I poured tears when they woke up for real and just looked so happy to have an actual meal.

Such a sweet cartoon! Max Fleisher always did have a way of tugging at the heartstrings! I love the little boy's ingenuity when he realizes his bread is too hard to bite into so rather than complaining he says, "I'm gonna dunk!" And his sister does the same so that the bread is now soft enough to eat!

This cartoon to this day still makes me cry. It really resonates with whats happening now. The homeless situation getting worse, food, gas & housing cost going up & paycheck that barely get you by. Today my fiancée & i are really sick but taking days off to get better is a risk bc of bills/rent. I often think of how can we improve our lives better & dream of a life where we can both work hard & truly see the rewards of that hard work. I want so bad to see my fiancée happy & treated fairly by employers but like the cartoon that dream comes to an end & reality brings us back to real life.

I never thought I'd see this ever again... I remember watching this when i was only 8 or 9, and it stuck with me ever since, whenever i feel like I'm eating too much, the boys plea and then the mothers weaping plays in my head. As frightening as it sounds, it's definitely made an impact on my life, thank you for this possible trip down memory lane.

I see people talking about how sad this and 'Christmas Comes But Once a Year' are, they're supposed to be these were released in the 1930's during the great depression. People were starving back then and people weren't as concerned with buying Christmas presents, they were more concerned about making sure they could put food on the table.

I remember watching this in a VHS tape my dad got me. As a kid, it made me cry because many families are in poverty and can't afford much since I use to go to Mexico so often. Kids selling in the streets and parents working hard but don't make much. ATM I got tons of plushies and small toys in my car and I can't go to Mexico due to how ugly it got. I am seeking someone to take them so they can give them to kids before or after Christmas ya know 🥺😭😭😭 Makes me so happy some people help others out even if it's a bit.
