Something extra special needed to be offered this year to attract people back to the CBD, especially with the closure of Myer. Good on BCC & the remaining retailers on the mall for offering such a superb lead up to Christmas 🎄 🎉👏🙏

Omg poor santa in a heatwave 😰😰😰 Pet sessions will be great! Cue the escapes 😂 i very rarely bother seeing the lights, i dont enjoy vehicular chaos, but this year, i am actually going to see them. I'm really looking forward to it!

Yep, that's what I meant by the comp. I'm still considering if I'll go or not. I kinda want to start working on a video for Christmas 2025, looking at the prep these folk do throughout the year leading up to it. Much more interesting than just showing up and filming what people could just go and see themselves anyway.

@BrisbaneChannel I would love to see that!! That would be a really happy & fun (joyous) little doco to watch, because those are expensive labours of love. I watched an old doco a couple of weeks ago about American halloween haunted houses. There's one that is just a flat out torture house & the waiting list was like 18 months long. They love Halloween over there, spending thousands of bucks to run a haunted house for one night or one week. I'd rather watch people get their christmas lights ready lol.

bout time mall decorations were changed so thats gonna be cool to see..The city hall tree should be changed also i think to a bushy tree ....and Brisbane arcade looks lovely

Odd that the Enchanted Garden is only on until the 21st December, usually it goes throughout the school holidays in January?

@@becsterbrisbane6275 I think I remember it finishing before Christmas last year, and previous years having quite a limited season also. I think the longer times were before Covid when it wasn't even ticketed. I didn't even manage to get tickets the year before last, so I've been sure to snap up a couple as soon as they're available since then.

Very colourful! The Enchanted Garden looks great, but personally, especially as a rate payer - I don't think anyone should have to PAY to visit any BCC public areas nor sites.

A warm Christmas isnt a real Christmas. You need snow and fireplaces. Southern hemisphere aint got the real christmas feel

That may be the case for you, but I think what's "the real Christmas feel" really depends on our childhood memories of Christmas. A cold Christmas just doesn't feel right to most people from the southern half of the world. I admit, though, that it's a bit weird that many of our Christmas decorations feature snow, so at least in your part of the world (wherever that is, and I'm assuming you're a northern hemispherian) everything is consistent.

@@BrisbaneChannel Actually both. I was born and raised in Melbourne, spent almost 40 years there and then moved to NYC over 10 years ago. I sometimes visit family in Australia for Christmas and the vibe just doesn't compare. When you have experienced a white Christmas, anything else just ain't the same.

@ivxample From what I've heard, it's more than just the climate as well. People have told me that in the States, they do Christmas BIG. And here, it's a pretty lazy "near enough is good enough" approach. Is this accurate?

@@BrisbaneChannel Yes America does Christmas big and its actually overwhelming particularly in NYC. 95% of the people here during Christmas are tourists but the way they decorate is nothing short of incredible. I don't think Australia is lazy - its like every country in the southern hemisphere. A warm Christmas tends to be more relaxed, outdoors, seafood etc. Over here its the traditional mulled wine, egg nog with cinnamon etc. All the things you see on the movies is what you get over here.

Im going to be nice today... But actually christmas in brisbane looks dry and completely boring and the lack of any such christmas decoration in brisbane and brisbane city towns. Last year i visit and it didn't had much all the excitement was just 1 piece of christmas decoration and that was the christmas tree at the city hall. And just light wall motion story teller display but thats pretty much it. Most stores not much excitement and the queen street mall where you walk didn't had much other then a cheap made up plastic round shape that looks like a tree but not very exciting... Just cheap looking and plain made. Maybe because its so hot no one cant handle to do things in summer. The christmas in brisbane was plain boring. Im suprise u keep showing Theatre shows. Like whats with the theatre shows all the times ? you must enjoy that but its not as if the whole Brisbane people goes to theatre play shows. If thats what brisbane can really do... Its no wonder why brisbane looks as empty as any other given day in the year.. christmas.... or middle of july or whatever. People expect exciting things. People dont travel that far or spent that much just to go and see a theatre show. In that case you can watch it online ways to do it. If its just theatres that brisbane can really good about it and the rest lack of free intertainment out there then brisbane seriously is boring in christmas time. The only excitement you see is the tall christmas tree but thats it the rest if a kids baby story teller light wall display but nothing excitement and not much decoration other then a basic plastic round shape in the middle of queen st mall to look like a tree lol..... seriously brisbane your pretty weird in a way. By the way i hope they can cancel the olympic games or at least do NOT built a new stadium. Its expensive and extremly rediculouless to spent billions of dollars just to built a stadium. Are you seriously ? BIllions just to built a stadium ? by the looks of a stadium.... it doesnt look like it would cost such a Billion dollars because you can built a luxury BUILDING office building in the city that cost Millions but not Billions.... a stadium is small fracture compare to a tall building been built. Who on earth comes up with such stupidity hective priceses such as that to built something for the games. How about spent a trillion dollars to built a stadium i think i would buy a 1 dollar shot gun and jump off the bridge perhaps. By the way thanks for making videos your very good at it and interesting personality you have. You have a funny unusual personality but so we all are and evryone with a unique formal way. Take care and are u takinhg a break at least from making videos until after christmas ? Looks like many vloggers are taking a short break now.

No break for me, at least not for Christmas. But I may slow down over December and January, as the deadline to complete my PhD is around the end of January, and obviously that's a higher priority than this channel.

@@BrisbaneChannel Hi yeah many people are now taking short or long breaks from making vlogs. Ive seen a few from sydney vloggers. I think its good to take a break now. You cant just keep doing such thing forever and expect to have millions of subs. In that case you wouldn't be able to handle it by 1 person doing videos. Its important to take a break. Its not about slow down. Who cares how many subs you have. Its not as if they going to now force you to do videos 24/7 for life. You wouldnt be able to handle and all the frustration edting. Takes time you see. I can see why people are taking breaks because they wan to feel refreshed for the new things next year. Which makes total sense. You keep making videos weekly and aventually someday or sonner you will end up becoming extremly bored because you have simply lost what else to do in videos. Always the same thing will over kill it and becomes plain boring. So taking a break is important. Give yourself a break for 2 or 3 months. Its not as if your going to WORRY about not wanting to loose your audience... these who leave all they wanted was taking advantage of your videos. Since they are WATCHING your videos for FREE.... and your not getting paid by every user who does and if so not much at all. If you where to do videos weekly same old thing over and over.. it will aventually become too much in which it will then make you understand you rather have a break and then continue the stuff you want later.. Without a break and all your doing is giving people free hand outs.. You would rather get paid properly for every each video. But you cant be force by viewers to continue make videos... you are who you are and you need a break as much as every vlogger on youtube from time to time. Not because you have lots of subs... your going to worry that they will leave if you take a break not making videos... It doesnt work like that. Just remember these who stays as subscribrs are your real subs... Not the one leaving just because your having a break making videos... Think about it and anyways best of luck and i agree with u as well ken.

@@BrisbaneChannel Thats correct study and PhD comes first. NOT just youtube intertainment videos. Today there was millions of content on youtube. Your not the only one on earth making videos and specially your not the only guy in brisbane making videos. There are 100s of vloggers in brisbane making similar stuff as you and all. Just because u have a growing subscribers list doesnt mean u are now FORCE to make videos weekly for every time without a break. This is not good and this is far fetch force in making stuff by giving audience free handout videos.. They not paying u to watch videos.. So you should take a break as well. Its stressful isnt it? You have a real life to go about and do things in general. Not behind a COMPUTER on the internet.. life is real and you should just enjoy life you live once off... Not be force inside a internet reality by making videos. You will never get millions subs.. And to do that you have to be really famous to become one and that is just a waste of time. So dont bother. KZbin is big. Its not only you on youtube. People move on they come and they go. Taking a break from making videos is better then been sorry next. I know you enjoy making videos.. But geez.... why just internet all the times... dont you have anything reality in real life better things to do in general? im sure you do so internet is a small thing. Anyways whatever floats your mind. Im guessing the videos you do are not always made weekly but you just creat a bunch of them in a week and just distribute it all thru the months later..
