I always have my 3rd grade class make these every year. One year we made A LOT! We went on a field trip a couple of weeks before Christmas to an old folks home to sing carols, visit with and give them the cards and the cinnamon ornaments that we had made. The residents and nurses ABSOLUTELY loved it and so did my students! They talked about it for months after!

I was wondering if you made salt dough ornaments before? Several years ago I made a bunch of salt dough ornaments and painted them. They might be scented with cinnamon, but I could be wrong. Although I'm not sure if they sustained the couple years being in the attic. I messed up my arm and was too afraid to go up & down a ladder, so I haven't been up there since.

I have some that are a few years old, and they still had their smell. If they should ever fade, you can put a drop or two of cinnamon essential oil on it, and bring the smell back.
