I made these my whole life never knowing they were called polish stars. I've even made giant ones out of designer wrapping paper. I'm so glad there is a name for them because I always called them porcupine ball ornaments.

They do look like porcupine balls! ☺️

I've found that an easier way to make the points is to roll the ends round a sharpened pencil and glue in place while it's there, it gives you something to press on to make it stick, too. (Not my idea. I saw it on another video making a similar craft).
@OrigamiTree10 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the advice! I actually use pencils sometimes, too. But sometimes it's also fun to free-hand, hehe. :-)

It is not polish but german and invented in Moravian boys school in Germany some time ( a long time) ago, but it is not really important . Your star is great...good work! :D
@nataliaboffa69057 жыл бұрын
These are indeed Polish. The Moravian ornaments are, while stars, pretty different. :-)

It did take a while and was a bit of work! Hopefully you can find another project you’d enjoy making. ☺️
