In my school (in Brazil) my class is making (?) a Secret Santa, but I’m really shy (and broke lol) so I never participate. However, my amazing friends are making a Secret Santa of our own, but with friendly notes and drawing or handmade things like these (anything you can do to give to someone else) and I’m supposed to give one different thing to my friend everyday until our final exams start and these are perfect! Easy to make, cheap and so pretty! Thank you for sharing this tip with us ❤️❤️ Much love from Brazil 🇧🇷❤️

Oh thank you! I followed along to learn with a post it note! It was within reach and it worked! I must confess though, I hit pause after the cut and didn't see yet which half you would work to make a star. I began to unfold my little masterpiece and I chuckled...I chose the wrong half! I opened the half with the star MISSING. Cracked me up when I realize the teeny little triangle I nearly discarded was what you intended me to work. Well, I did and it is a beautiful little 3 dimensional star! : ) And yes one of my points has the sticky part from the post it, but it was the perfect ratio measurement to learn with! Encourage any one else to try it too! Thanks Auermedia!

Beautiful, and very clearly explained. I shall enjoy making some of these charming decorations with my grandchildren next month. Thank you. Edit: I have made these stars now. I bought some beautiful Art Deco inspired foil paper from an art shop. The first star came out a little odd with 3 long points and 2 short but I actually managed to refill and recut to correct it. The third star I didn’t need to watch the video by and my fourth star I did with no instructions at all and altered the cutting angle to get a very different but equally as lovely star. Easy and fun. Thank you.

Save envelops that you receive post in since sometimes they come in different colors and even special foil finish that can be used without incurring cost for the paper. Comics and pictures from damaged books can also be tried. To make glitter rinse with plenty of running water egg shells after you have cracked them let then dry then lightly crush into appropriate size particles that you can use kool aid or food coloring. You may wat to rinse the coloring so that it does not come off on your hands later when handling it. You could even make metallic color glitter with gold/silver/cooper/brass colored spray paints Of course out of the little scraps of left over colored papers you can cut confetti that can add some dimension to your stars. You can also make glitter out of broken colored glass by putting the chards in a metal contain then mash it with something like a length of pipe, or piece of log but when you mash close off thr top of the container with a cloth or something so that the shards do not pop out of the contain and get messy. You can wash out the "sand" with some water and then let it dry out then store in a container that will not open such as one of those adult medicine prescription bottles that you have to squeeze to open. I use the same type for any type of beads or sewing needles or pins so that they do not fall out like they do with the older med. bottles. You can make whatever color you want from the color of the glass but it will not be as deep. Use soda bottles, or alcohol bottles for what colors they may be. Look for house paints in the newspaper freebee sections that people are getting rid of. For spray laquer use the laquer-type hair spray or check to see if regular spray laquer is cheaper in the paint shop.
