Not sure if you tried but I felt the night market across the Sun Wheel was legit. I went last March. Good food, great live music. Vendors do not pester. I recommend

you should have interviewed the metal detector guy. they look for coins of different nations there as well as rings. some find a few silver rings and a rare gold ring. there was one called the beach pirate there before but; have not seen him for some time on you tube. another nice walk for you.
