Lovely Christmas memories. The black patches on the ground are caused by mould formed during the rainy season. They could be removed by scrubbing with a brush or washing the area with pressure machine.

Thank you. :) We thought it was due to the rainy season ooo. But now I'm worried about that first big patch because the area is kind of wet so I'm wondering if there's a leakage underneath. We will investigate that one later then wash everywhere once they are done with the compound.

Well done sister. To stop algea growing on interlocks, you need to used "Tile sealer". Sealers typically protect unglazed tiles and grouts from absorbing stains, mildew, bacteria, and more! With the proper (and professional) application, the tile and grout sealer should last for a while

Thank you. The thing is that this is not even interlocking. Those gaps are why we stayed away from them. This is a concrete floor yard with stamped designs. We need to investigate that patch to make sure it's not an underground leak.
