I also add additional greenery stems to my tree before decorating it. It fills in the bare spots to give your tree a more full, balanced look. Love to hear you do this also. I do like your decor style, and the tree came out looking very whimsical. I loved the candles flickering on the tree. An easy fix for the time being with the fireplace looking small is getting a Gold framed larger mirror, preferably the same width as the fireplace & taller. Whenever having to work with what you have, sometimes you have to improvise. Hope this helps. ❤

Those candles are just a lovely idea. And don’t u worry about the size of your fireplace. Work with what you have. There is always something that could be improved on…progress not perfection! Also the vase and the way you use it on the mantel is gorgeous. I love it all. ❤

Honestly, a couple of bookcases on both sides of the fireplace will give it the additional presence it is lacking. You can find them reasonably priced at several stores. So nice to see alternative styles using Christmas decor. How special is that nativity.

Love, love, love what you did with the tapered candle on your tree. Never seen that before. I had a small fireplace too for the size of the room. I used a large mirror the width of the fireplace that brought the eye upwards and placed two columns on both sides of the fireplace giving the illusion that it was horizontally larger. For every season I use appropriate decor on the columns that coordinates with the decor on the fireplace. The tree is beautiful. PS: I diy the columns. The columns are cement molds from Home Depot. I cut them to height of the fireplace and wrapped them in a metal fabric I bought from hobby lobby. It was extremely easy.

I personally don’t think the fireplace is too small for the space. I do think you need to place other elements on each side and above the fireplace whether it be a desk, lamp, and chair set up, or a basket here or there, a faux tree, a long mirror above the fireplace, anything to fill in those empty spaces. It does look very small being the only element on that big wall. But you can definitely fill in the space with other items you probably already own. No need to go out and buy a new fireplace! I like your motto… work with what you have! It’s easy for the trolls to sit back and judge other people. I’d love to see THEIR fireplace! Absolutely love the decor this year! Your tree looks like a designer Christmas tree. Like one of those trees that you see in the mall or a nice department store😍🌲
