We were a family that struggled financially, and there were many years we couldn't aford a tree. My father was a church pastor on a small income. Many years, a tree showed up on our doorstep, along with gifts and boxes of groceries when our cupboards were bare. We didnt talk about bare cupboards, or no gift money. Momma just prayed, and God provided. One year without a tree, my father collected downed branches from the woods behind our house, and constructed a manger. We girls put one of our doll babies in it. That year, he strung the lights around the branch constructed stable over the manger and we placed our gifts around the baby, - the greatest gift of all. That Christmas, over 50 yrs later, remains one of our all time favorites to talk about. 🙂

Stunning, stunning, stunning!! I have so many Christmas memories, but in particular, my mother always put a lit, white candle in the window on Christmas morning. It's an old Irish tradition, to let the Christ Child know that there is room for Him at your house. ❤

I grew up in a super traditional colonial style home in maryland. Every year it was decked out just like the home alone house. My moms colors in the late nineties and early oos was maroon and Hunter green. It was splendid and that’s true Christmas to me

I am the youngest in a large family. Eight years between me and the next one up, 14 years between me and the oldest. My mother (Our father was deployed most Christmas') and my siblings would decorate the house after I had gone to bed on a Friday night. Saturday morning I would wake up to a new tree, stockings and a decorated tree. My siblings would act like they were seeing it for the first time making me believe in Christmas Magic. Now I do it for my household. Thanks Family!

Your home is beautiful! I wish I had all of this room to decorate and the money to spend on such extravagance. I love Christmas and for years decorated our hall at work and even in our office. But I bought what I could afford as I used my own money to do it. But it brought a lot of peace and smiles to many people which was why I did it. You never know what people are going through. But your home is breath taking Rebecca. Also a beautiful tribute to your sweet mom! God bless you.

We didn’t have a lot of money growing up but we always had a Christmas tree and decorations. The decorations were housed in a small green trunk. They were a smattering of many different things but they were well-used and cherished. Today, I have a huge storage room and half of it is taken up with Christmas decor. I wish I would have saved some of those childhood ornaments but they were badly damaged or broken after so many years. Well done, Rebecca, you are making such a beautiful home out of that house.

Great job Rebecca , I love to watch your Christmas videos, My mother was old school farmwife, who did nothing really to make or decorate for Christmas , and I craved it so much, not even knowing that I did. I would rearrange the presents under the tree to look pleasing, when we did have a tree, that I cut down in our woods. I used what I could find, because to my parents spending money on deco was a waste of money. I craved it so much, that in my adult life I do whatever I can to make my home and any holiday special for my family and me. Again thank you for sharing your ideas, I find joy in decorating my home on a very limited budget , my husband and I got divorce several years ago, so that changed my lifestyle a lot. But this grandma enjoys the creative outlet and making my home a place my children and grandchildren love to come home too. Merry Christmas and god bless you .

Hi Rebecca, I come from a home where Christmas decorations just were not bothered with. But since I married 43 years ago, I have decorated my home the best I could afford, and it always looks beautiful, as like yourself, I made the most of what I had. When wrapping a gift, I make my own bows, even for the smallest gift. I have learned so much from watching your videos over the years, and this year in your new home, well, it looks like it was built for Christmas, your decorations are absolutely stunning, the best ever, so beautiful. You have inspired me to try music themed Christmas decorations, not on your scale, my entire home would probably fit in your entryway, but I have bought the musical note sheets to make the wreath, and also wrapping paper, I’m just waiting for a few more things, and then I can get started. Big hugz and love xxx

Rebecca your place looks enchanted. I would leave the garlands up all year around just take out the Christmas bits and substitute with relevant holiday themes. My memory of Christmas back in the 60s behind the iron curtain was the big tree gone up to the celing with some simple decoration but the most important thing the chocho train going around it. Even I remember chasing the train. That was so comforting to me. Loved boy toys so when it came for asking the Angel I did always asked toy cars, trains, buses. Such a shame I have none with me anymore only my memories. 🙂😇🤩

When I was a little girl to age 16 back in Dominican Republic, my house was always decorated inside and outside. I came to USA. When I got married I brought all those memories to my family. I would always decorate all my doors, it was decorations all over inside and outside. Now I decorate less but I still do a lot. I gave my village to my daughter and now I not only decorate my house I help my daughter do her house. I love seeing my grandchildren excitement when we decorate. I want my grandchildren to carry these memories to their children for generations to come.
