Christmas Direct - How to connect our LED string lights

Can you do this if both ends have 3 wires bare on each side or is there a better way to do this. Am I able to add the connector back onto the bare wires?

I have two sets of light with that same type of connector but they’re color changing and they don’t sync together. How can I fix that?
