I find it easier to pound in the pvc, if you cut the bottom at a 45 degree angle instead of straight across. The sharper point make pounding it in easier.
@Lady_of_Ishpeming2 күн бұрын
You can also get a couple of pieces of rebar and drive those in the ground. Place the pvc over them, and you have more stability.

The indoor arch way was pretty cool. It looks like if you want to make it taller you wouldn't need to use the full circle. Prop up on something and wrap them like presents. Then do another bow on the bottom where it can hold it into place as well.

Hi there. Hey i want to encourage you to make several channels. Make a news channel and a story time channel. Just read and pretty much anything and make long videos. You can make clips of the longer vids for shorts to gain followers but.. your voice has a certian smoothness that many people would be happy to listen to. Doesnt matter really what you read or say, people will listen because your voice for whatever reason is soothing loke the older radio ahow host that many people would listen to and fall asleep at the sound of the radio show host soothing voice.

Interesting idea... I might make some substitutions, though if I was going to make this. I would use black zip ties to scure the garland to the poles, and use a more Christmassy-colored plaid or fabric for the bow. You can also get large pre-made bows as well as the stiffly-formed big red ones that hold their shape and are made for outdoor use (won't get out of shape or wilt from wind or rain, all under $10 at Walmart, there is even one for outdoors with embedded LED lights for $7.99). I would also probably use a less in-your-face string of lights, like the strings of 100 either white or multicolored Christmas tree lights you can get very cheaply at someplace like Walmart (for instance, strings of 100 lights for $4.84). The ones I bought are still going strong after years of use.

Skip the elbows and just arch the PVC over the sidewalk; use a heat gun to soften the PVC if needed. Skip the garland too and using painters tape to paint as candy canes. Less tacky and a bit more festive.

Yes PVC pipe cracks when hit by a hammer. Any tube, short of thick metal, will crack, bend, snap or be crushed when hit by a hammer. To help “prevent” this from happening simply place a piece of wood, a 2X4 or 1/2” plywood for example, on the top of the PVC pipe. Now hammer the wood not the pipe. It’s that simple
