I’m starting these for my kiddos this year. It’s been a family tradition to make these stockings. I have one, mom has one, etc… handmade will last a lifetime ♥️

I LOVE it!!! These family traditions are so important to keep up. My daughters have made stockings for their kids, too. I hope it keeps going. Yes, handmade from the heart does last forever!

Thank you for the video. It's very helpful. I would like to see the detail of how you stuffed and applique the little "cut out" areas that are right on the edge.

Great suggestion! I will include this detail on my next upload. Look for it. Thanks again, for your great question!

Can you please explain in great detail how to do the cording for the reins? My thread doesn’t seem long enough once it is folded in half and I can’t figure out where to attach the cording on stocking. Also, can you show me an example of the correct needle to use to attach the cording to the stocking?

I think the easiest kits are ones that just have one main central piece. For example, the Christmas Skate. It's just one ice Skater and some Snowflakes. Or the Santa Face one would be super easy. Or one that just has one Snowman on it. Any kits with several small animals is definitely a kit that will take some time.

Good plan ~ it can create a lot of anxiety to pressure yourself with a short deadline. Know that I am always here to answer questions and provide help and support!

Looks great! How do you aplique the later layers without going through the stuffing? Do you do more assembly of pieces before attaching? Working on my first and don’t want to go out of order but having a hard time getting the aplique stitches neat and consistent
@servantcrafts Жыл бұрын
Getting your stitches consistent comes with practice. But, truly when you see your whole project done, they really don't impact the look of it as a whole. I do talk about stitching on top of other pieces in my current project. But, let me try to answer here. Always do the assembly in the order of the instructions, except in very few cases that I have discovered for myself. When stitching on top of a piece that has been stuffed and appliqued, try to only stitch through the layer of felt just under the piece you are applying (unless specified by the instructions). I hope this makes sense.

Beginner here…currently watching videos/reading articles to learn…I’m curious…(I’ve done sewing in the past) is it ok to iron the felt design (with out water) to get the creases out?…ps…thanks for all your great videos!
@servantcrafts Жыл бұрын
Yes you can! Just be sure to use the coolest setting on your iron that will take out the creases. Also, iron on the wrong side of the felt. This will ensure that the paint lines won't smear. I hope you enjoy making your stocking! Be careful ~ it is addictive!
@lilianempls Жыл бұрын
I really recommend ironing out the creases in the felt prior to adding the beads and sequins. Don't put a hot iron directly on the felt, use a piece of fabric to protect it otherwise it might melt.
@servantcrafts Жыл бұрын
Yes, this is helpful and you MUST be very careful not to disturb the paint lines. But, I rarely do this step and by the time you are finished with all the stuffing and layers of stitching, the creases are gone.
