My grandmother made these for all her 20 grandchildren. We lost our stocking many years ago when my dad didn't pay the storage fee. But I remember these stockings with such fondness. It reminds me of Christmas and my grandmother. It took so much love and time to do this for all her grandchildren. I came upon these looking for ideas to re-create this stocking and create a lasting memory for my beloved 4 year old godson. He means the world to me.

Oh my, these are so, so, so adorable. You could gift the Corgi-Stocking to Shannon 😉 They are truly a one of a kind stocking. I just made a quilted (and compared to your elaborate one) ang quite plain one for my niece last christmas. Filled it with crafting supplies, perfect gift for a 5 year old.

My nephew's wife is having a baby girl. Her name is going to be Charlotte. They are going to call her Charlie. I love it, I can't wait to see her.

I've started my first ever stocking and its a Bucilla, I found it on Amazon. I'm from the UK and these stockings aren't a 'thing' over here so I'd never heard of them before, but I wanted to make something for christmas so I got it. OMG I'm loving it, I haven't sewn anything since school, I'm a papercrafter so making cards and gift bags is so far from sewing felt and sequins but I'm so happy I found it and I shall be making many more. xx

We had these growing up too! My mom always said that her sister made them for us, and your video made me realize that I will have the joy of making them for my family and nibilings when the time comes too :). We actually had a spare kit lying around when i was a kid and i remember taking everything out and trying to assemble it when i was maybe 10? . I really want to see if my mom still has that one, i am certainly more equipped with the skills necessary for this then i was 10+ years ago

For tiny bits, depth or just for fun I use fabric paint, the good thick stuff. I buy the kits, their so sloppily cutesy I can't resist. I use whatever I have, I don't stick to felt at all. People have actually commented on how the paint enhances it. Your white is sooo thin with no structure! I would have been tempted to put thin white cardboard between 2 layers of white just for the front. 1 def wouldn't hold any of mine together

Wow. It’s so beautiful!! You are so talented, and patient. I kinda want to do one now but I should probs finish the other 50 embroidery projects I have in my WIP pile 😂 And I think the ominous-ness of crows comes from the bible. I think Noah sent out a crow/raven to find land and it never came back. Then he sent the Dove 🕊️. I could be wrong, been a very long time since Sunday School so take that with a pinch of salt 😂.

This is such a cute idea! I've never seen these done with felt before, my gran created socks for each of the grandkids in cross stitch. love the 3d aspect of this though, the little tail popping out of the corgi butt is to die for

I've seen stockings like that in a box of decorations, not with names. Me and my siblings stockings were like santa hats and there was two others for when my cousins visit. Felt ones seem very extra and would look cute in miniature. My doll Macy is always trying new things so she'd definitely have done this for her five kids. And her grandson will need a stocking for his first christmas. She'll just have to find time in between family politics and magical villains.

A bit before we reached school age, around ~4yrs old, my mom told my brother and I that we can pick any name we want and we could use that name at home and school, then we could have it legally changed after we turn 18 if we want to officially change it. She explained it as, "I didn't know you when I named you, so if you like another name better then you can have that name." I tried out one other name for a couple months in 2nd grade but it wasn't for me and I'm okay with my name so I just stuck with my original. My brother kept his name as well. I have a friend that has used her middle name since before I met her and another friend that uses her last name as a nickname.

You don't strike me as a Kaylee at all x) It's funny how some people really suit their name and others just totally don't. Also weird how that works! I didn't grow up with Christmas Stockings (we have 'Sinterklaas' where you put your actual shoe in front of the fireplace and sing songs to then find a present in it the next morning) but it is something I'm looking forward to introducing and making myself when we have kids!

Aw I love the idea of singing to your shoe to get a present! And yeah, I find it so weird that we are assigned names at birth and some people sort of turn into the stereotype of that name and others are just so far off. I'm glad we at least do middle names so there's a sort of legal version to play around with!

This may be a sign that I need to pull out my equivalent felt project. I fell in love (*mumblemumbleYearsAgo*) with a Bucilla felt wreath kit in this style, featuring Christmas cookies and candies. Do I have room for yet another Christmas wreath in my Toronto-sized condo? No. I absolutely do not. What I do have room for, however, is a garland to hang along the front of a wide bookshelf. I also decided to skip the kit and make it myself to my exact specs, because I like to complicate things. I have also collected a large stack of felt in all the colours for it. Plus, I needed all the beads and sequins and rickrack and white trim with little dangly white pompoms, and and and….*sigh* I started making this way back in the before times, sooooo….yeah, should get on that.

Thought. Could you draw the stocking shape on the felt after stabilizing it, put it in a hoop then stich the pieces down for future neices and nephews? Easier onthe hands. All my kids have specific stockings given to them that they use each yr. Traditions

omg someone else who started going by their middle name later in life! (Incredible to learn that now when I've watched most of your videos) It def took some time to adjust, and it's such a struggle sometimes cuz when forms are official enough, you need to put your full name including first name, and I never know where that cutoff is. But I love going by my middle name! And I'm always happy to find other people who do too! (And I'd love to hear more about your thoughts on names, I too have a lot of thoughts on names, as I'm sure most people who changed their name do, and it's akways so interesting)

Yeah the official forms are still a tightrope sometimes... I've signed contracts before as Charlie and then I'm like wait... is that not legal?? But oh my goodness yes, I have sooooooo many thoughts on names. They've always been so important to me! I wonder why we never had stockings as kiddos. I made stockings for my family and my son got all the accumulated decorations he and I made. My mom and I painted a nativity for each of us one year at my kitchen table. Now I have no decorations! This year I did get a wooden tree shape for Winter Solstice. Maybe because we weren't Christians?😂 my mom didn't say a word about my zillion Christmas😢 decorations now living at my son's house.
