Hi Becca, l find your style of artwork really inspiring. Could you tell me what are the Derwent type of pencils that are equivalent to the polychromo and the luminance as l like to buy British if l can.

I don’t use many Derwent coloured pencils, mainly Fabercastell Polychromos and Caran D’ache luminance so I’m not overly familiar with the derwent xx

I sent you a message on Instagram but dont know if it went through. I too am a colored pencil artist and I wanted to try the Fabriano artistico watercolor paper. I do have the 300gsm white but mine has lines in the paper where I see yours doesn't. Are there different types? Are you using a pad or individual sheets?

Hello! Sorry I don’t always see my Instagram dm’s straight away. To answer your question, I buy the individual sheets of the extra white Fabriano Artistico paper 300gsm, and then cut it down to size. It does have a slight linear grain to it, it maybe just doesn’t pick it up so much on the camera. Hi, I'm really enjoying your beautiful robin drawing. Looking forward to watching the other ones. What I would like to ask you though, is are you using the fabriano artistico hot pressed paper that has had a surface change to it? As I enjoyed the previous fab paper it had a lovely feel to it. If you are using this newer paper it is certainly working well for you. Hope this all makes sense. Thank you

Yes I’m using the newer hot pressed extra white hot pressed Fabriano Artistico paper, and I know there’s been a lot of mixed reviews about the slightly new texture to it, but personally I actually prefer it! The grain is more linear now rather than grid like how it was previously. I also buy the large sheets and cut my paper down to size, the paper may differ slightly in the sketch pads I’m not too sure, but it’s still worth a try! My favourite paper by far 🤗

I don’t know where to start but to thank you. I am new to your channel, but have followed you on Instagram for sometime. Your art is exquisite. I particularly enjoy illustrating birds, and primarily do so with watercolor. Although I have dabble with colored pencil. I just want to thank you for taking so much time and creating a video series That really shows in real time how to build up color. And I am hoping this will translate into my use of watercolor although I’m tempted to try colored pencil just to see if I can articulate the eye and beak better after watching you do it. I am watching the video like a movie. I’m only on the first one. Your technique is amazing.🧡🪶

Hi Becca! How do you do graphite lines before start with color pencils? Do you use copy sheet or window or drawing by hand? Thx. I just want to know how to save time.

Hi lovely! I print out the image to scale (8x10”) and use transfer paper inbetween the printed out image and the paper I’m drawing on, I draw over the main lines on the printed image and it transfers onto my paper underneath. I’ve tried so many methods over the years, but this is the one that I’ve found to be the quickest, and most accurate in terms of proportions. I think I may do a video on this, as sometimes it’s easier to show you rather than explain and quite a few people have asked me the same thing 😁
