Found an older model, mid size, stainless cabinet Harvest Right with the heat sealer with some bags, and the oil vacuum pump; all for just $275. It was on the 2nd day at an estate sale. I really enjoy your shared changes and solid ideas for oil filtering and draining the water, not to overlook all the ways that makes freeze drying more successful. You and your staff help so much. Grew up with my German Dad using black pepper on cantaloupe in West Texas. The best to you and yours in 2020!

Thanks for the video. I purchased a spiral cut ham on sale for the sole purpose of freeze drying and had 2 trays that needed filling so a got it out and put it on those trays. I only put 1 layer down and that hardly made a dent in the ham since it is so thinly cut and was thinking it was going to take many loads to freeze dry the whole ham. I remembered this video so I checked it out to see if you put several layers. So thanks for that and I put a couple layers of ham on my trays and that took quite a bit of ham and I think I can finish the rest on my next load. I love my freeze dryer and watching your videos convinced me to get one. Merry Xmas!

Love the channel...Would you please do a video that discusses food safety practices both before freeze drying raw food and safe handling after the food has been freeze dried...There is not much out there that talks about the risks and safety practices regarding handling things like freeze dried raw meats. Thanks!

Merry Christmas! Not all midwestern food quirks are that benign. My Grandfather used to put pepper on his cantaloupe.

The Harry Channel my husband does that too, and we’re in Texas.

Butter is still better than mayo. Merry Christmas!

Mayo makes it browner than butter. It's just a matter of personal preference.
@xurx28384 жыл бұрын
@@richardgray8593 I agree it's a preference. I think butter gives a crisper crust and has better flavor. Mayo is is a great backup for me though!
