A very happy Christmas to you Juliet, not quite the same thing I know but this is my first Christmas without my mum who passed away this year and also my first Christmas without both parents as my father is 9 years gone and I was glad to get out on my bike and road test my new tyres yesterday so despite going to spin classes, just like you said there's nothing beats getting out on the bike.

Happy Christmas! I had surgery on Dec 9 and am attempting the 500 on Zwift. Slightly behind on pace but will do what I can. My body is the limiting factor. Cheers!

Great video as usual. I share your fear of mud/moss/man hole covers etc having come off 2 years ago and requiring a new hip. You’ll get back in the swing of things eventually.

As a child from a mixed up and blended family (1978 divorce!) I know what it’s like mixing between parents. Luckily my sister, brother (step and blood) and I were well loved by both parents and despite the challenges we all benefited from it. We are all incredibly close with each other and our parents. My experience tells me it’ll be Ok despite how hard it must be as a parent. Anyway, good to see you back on a bike and having Sam’s support. 👍 Mind you, you lost me at Tofu. 😂

The Festive 500 is kind of BS: at least on Christmas one should focus on one's family not on one's bike and then again for some places 500k is nothing, while other places have such horrbile weather etc. etc.

well Rapha obviously as originally a UK company that then expanded globally, expected the festive 500 to be more about getting out on your bike when its actually challenging weather wise to be motivated to do so and when the 10 days betwixt Christmas are all about eating and drinking, which I think is something unique to the UK. Also not everyones family Christmas is that great, getting out on a bike actually can be a godsend in terms of mental health to deal with that, or at the least a means to escape the stresses of it.

Love your positivity but still bemused by the fact that all the effort that goes into cycling tech and how many cycling KZbinrs there are but none of you can come up with a better way of filming than holding your camera out in front of you ! Even on good traffic heavy toads this has disaster-waiting-to-happen written all over it. There's money to be made with the right solution 🤫
