Plus this is the first Christmas our grown daughter hasn't been able to spend with us. Watching your video brought some warm memories to mind. The piñata used in Posadas is shaped like a seven-pointed star. Each point represents the seven deadly sins that are broken as soon as María and José are granted a place to stay. The piñata is normally filled with candy, and once it is fully broken, a prayer is said and the festivities begin. My great grandparents on my dad's side are from Mexico and on my mom's side are from Spain. But I love when I see other people appreciate my culture. Just a little bit in the beginning of why they do the pinatas. Hope you Jenn and your families had a wonderful Christmas. We also celebrate on Christmas eve and use to go to midnight mass then come home and open gifts. The favorite ornament you call the goat reminds me of Charlie in a box from Rudolph.

Goodmorning Jacob and Merry Christmas to you and yours. I just watched your Christmas Eve video, and that was very nice, very special. I'm still snuggled in bed here at the Dolphin Hotel, but gotta get up showered and out for 11 a.m. checkout. I will be going to the Magic Kingdom today. I got a chance to chat with Adam yesterday at Epcot, and then I went in for my 6:30 dinner reservation in Japan. It's gonna be a cold day today, and today I have my batteries all changed up for my heated socks, heated gloves, heated pants, and heated jacket. Your Grandmother's basement is AWESOME DELUXE!! It is almost an exact replica if our family house we grew up in Dearborn Michigan, which my brother Ken bought off us girls when Mom died n willed it to us all. That was the basement to die for!!! As a teenager, my Mom let in me n my roving band if Hippie friends in after dark to hang out when it was cold ir precipitating outside. Dad went to bed at 11:30 after the news for work as he was an accountant n had to get up early, but we were allowed to come in n hang down there as long as we were quiet n Dad didnt wake up. There was a full bar, bathroom, built in bookshelves n homework desks n cabinets to hold all our games, built in shuffleboard un the floor, ping pong table, bro's pool table n hockey table too n couches n chairs n a separate laundrt room which housed the cats we had n a fruit cellar or pantry.. seeing your Grandparents basement n hearing your Christmas memories was sooo interesting n fun for me, as I am a lot older than you are, but ut us wonderful to see that the traditions we had in the 1960's n 1970's STILL pervaded the next generations!!!

Thanks for the warm, nostalgic video and sharing your family with us Jacob ❤ The front of your grandmother's house looks beautiful 😍💙 And I love the 60's/70's look inside. In my family, my aunt hosts the Christmas Eve party and I too look forward to it every year. There also aren't many young kids left in our family now, but the past few years I've made up scavenger hunt games for the small handful who attend, and they've been a big hit. We used to have a big Christmas Day celebration at my Mamaw's house until she went into the nursing home and later passed away. My heart aches every year at this time for her, but the memories are precious. Btw, those pinatas are super impressive and look like a ton of fun! I think I had the same Spongebob pinata for my 10th birthday party. It took a group of 8-12 year-olds almost an hour to defeat him 😆 Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and Jen! 🎅
