My parents had just taken over a small bakery business in merry oak Southampton. And on moving day it was pretty busy. Ass the two lads working in the bakery were finishing for the day. My mother asked them what they had planned for the weekend. They said were just of to the football. Mum said jokingly you don’t want to take him with you do you. Being myself. And they said why not. So I went along. I was only 15 and I was hooked. Stood in the old chocolate box ot boys box back then. It was against Middlesbrough. We were 1/0 down at half time and won 2/1. What a season that was A league cup final. Which I didn’t manage to make. But the semi final at home under the floodlights I will never forget. Saints have given me some incredible memories over the years. And I’m no longer able to get to any games. But I’m enjoying your videos and very much appreciate the time and effort you put in. My uncle Mike took me to Saints V Liverpool on Saturday the 2nd of December 1961 I knew then I'm Saints through and through I was 9 years old. 62 years later my son sourced and bought me the program of that game. I've supported them through the good and the bad times. Never wanted to support any other team.

My first game was in the second division around 1974, Carlisle I think. I was about 7, around then, but a long time ago to be certain.

Its very difficult to get out of the chwmpionship . However as a bon league fan and neutral i think rhry should have replaced Martin way brfore rhey did. He will find it hard to get snother hob in prem.
