One morning my dad woke up and couldn’t find his wedding band. (They we’re married for 64 years) It must’ve slipped off in his sleep. He was frantically looking for it, pulling the sheets back while asking the Lord to help him find it. He happened to pat the chest pocket of his pajamas and, lo and behold, his ring was in his pajama pocket!! We all rejoiced and thanked the Lord. He cares for even the small things in life. (Though big to us). So glad you found your ring! 🙌🏼

I loved the pilgrimage to the stable. The animals brought a touch of realism and unscripted entertainment. The cats eyes shone, the dog was staring hard at the squaky silly chickens. You had a heralding angel with Avalon. Poor Chloe, she didn't feel well. The lost ring reminds me of how baby Jesus came to seek and save the lost.

What I appreiate most about your blog and lifestyle is your old-fashioned values - family and God first. I appreciate your family love and commitment; teaching children the valuable life - skills like animal husbandry, cooking, building, sewing - all skills they can take into their adult lives and put to good use where they go. I adore that you respect and value your wives mothering and cooking skiils and don't expect her to also go out and wokr fulltime and early money while trying to also mother your children. Sadly, these are traditional values that are being lost in the larger world and this makes me sad. ( FYI:We also found that dried leaves worked great as a base in the chicken coop and were free! Durng our 20 years of homesteading we colledted leaves in the fall when they were dry and stored in large leaf bags in the shed and then used them as chicken litter all winter long.

What a beautiful ring ! It is so unique ! I loved this video and the chicken coop story of Jesus .Boy that one chicken does not know how close she came to being chicken stew ! She just wanted the humans to go home. I enjoyed the effect of being in a place like the one Jesus was born in , noisy chicken and all . Oh my gosh! God is soooo good! I have noticed that the Holy Spirit does this really cool thing. He will draw your eye like a magnet to whatever thing He wants you to see. He does this all the time for me. It's usually a scripture He wants to highlight but He has done it with lost things too. I love watching a family so devoted and loving to one another! It seems that in this day and age so many people are so fixated on themselves and what makes them happy. They just don't seem to realize that by giving one gets given . Not necessarily material things but things of the spirit and things of the heart. Material things come and go and are not always that important! A wonderful family is really so much more important! You are making great memories for your children to remember and they will remember them more than they will remember things they may have gotten for Christmas or another occasion! My father inlaw was in nursing home with dementia and his ring disappeared. My mother in law was heart broken til it fell out of his sock on Christmas eve! Happy New year! 💖

The Lord Above heard your prayer, a pure prayer of Love and Faith. Faith in Him and the Christmas story tradition that u have and keep. And the Love u have for your wife Priscilla and the Family u have built together thus far. To each their own beliefs/faith, (I am Jewish), but most of us I think, have a belief of Someone Above. In Judaism, we call Him also Hashem, which is Hebrew for The Name. There is praying, praying in Service to Him. And there is also talking to Him. I do not always pray per se, but I definitely talk to Him throughout my day. If I can't find something ,I ask for His help. If I almost fall, but didn't, I thank Him. If I find a great sale or free food just when I had been wanting that item, I thank Him. So I thank u and your Family for helping me in my Faith in Him; not just because of this special ring - but in all of how u show us viewers/followers of how u live your Life - a Life of Faith, Family, Service - at least that is how I see your Family. Memories with mucking the chicken stall. I always had to do it by myself from the 2nd grade all the way thru high school. The smell is something and I probably needed a mask. We used it as ferilizer in the garden. That was hard work as well.
