I understood Jesus better through the words "your every breath was an hallelujah" I could hear His labored breathing on the cross, His breath as he taught the Lord's prayer, all of his speaking to help us understand divine Love. Yes sweet and loving thoughts but people inside nations must not flee. They must change their homelands from within so that everyone benifits not just those who can flee. It is not charitable for strong young men to leave the weak behind. If they want this nations prosperity they must stay home and work to change their own country to be like ours for everyone living there. Otherwise only a few are better off.

Thank you for entering the conversation. I think you make a point but also ask you to step into the shoes of a family who was bombed out of their home in a war torn land, saw their friends and relatives massacred or seen religious or ethnic cleansing, or the pains of extreme poverty and disease. You are correct to say that the strong should not leave the weak behind, agreed however there ad many kinds of circumstances that are beyond some to fix from where they are. All of us in the United Sates are the descendants of immigrants that left lands and homes for the very same reason many people today long to come here is any way they can. They have a dream ands want their children to be away from starvation, death and war. It is not so simple to say, they should stay and fix their country to make it like ours. We are American have become callous, myopic and casual in our sight of the predicaments of other people in other parts of the world. We are isolated and have a comfortable life, even some of the poorest of of us have more than most people in the world. what would Christ do? I do not think he would hesitate to assist. In fact when we see these people, we are given the opportunity to see Christ and serve God. In some ways it is a risk. I lived in Chicago and taught in the Chicago Public schools. Most the my neighbors were immigrants fleeing something, many of the children I taught saw then that were terrible. I learned to see myself in them and Christ. If we are to heal this fractured world, there is no other way. Be well and brightest Blessings.
