Interior and fine arts photographer Sarah Winchester takes us inside her stunning Massachusetts home that is decked for the holidays.
For more extraordinary home tours, visit our website: homeworthy.com/
Sarah and her husband purchased their traditional Foursquare home in Chestnut Hill nearly 11 years ago. In need of TLC, Sarah and her family lived through numerous renovations to transform their forever home into a haven of warmth and timeless charm. Owning an older home in New England, Sarah and her family feel a profound sense of stewardship - acting as the custodians until the torch is passed to the next generation.
This unique home boasts a harmonious blend of Southern and New England styles, reflecting Sarah's roots in Georgia. The fusion of these influences creates an inviting atmosphere, where tradition meets modernity. As an interiors and fine arts photographer, Sarah infuses her home with a neutral palette that serves as a serene backdrop. Yet, she masterfully introduces pops of color through her own captivating photographs and the delightful artwork of her children. Each room tells a story, narrated through the lens of Sarah's artistic vision, creating a home that is both inviting and visually stunning.
Meet Magnolia, Sarah's feline companion and the muse behind the festive spirit that envelops the Winchester residence during the holiday season. With multiple Christmas trees, ornate garlands, and an array of seasonal embellishments, the house transforms into a winter wonderland, capturing the essence of joy and celebration. Enjoy!

I read the comments below and the questions about the history of the house. Sarah says it "dates back to 1987" at the beginning of the video but I think she meant 1887. Beautiful home!

This Homeowner is charming and she has created a wonderful living space for her family. This is clearly an older home and the owner mentions that several times in this tour including that the window glass is over 100 years old so I’m not sure why some viewers are concerned that the home is newer. Bravo to this Homeowner and all of her unique decor concepts.

a plaque on the exterior reads 1897. The homeowner just mixed up the numbers - i am sure being filmed like this is quite nerve-wracking and she did a wonderful job.

Less talking and more touring... I feel as if there was more talking about her profession and trinkets, than the home.. Whats the 3rd floor look like? What do the kids rooms look like? How about a view of the outside?.. I felt a bit unsatisfied after giving over 40min viewing the video.. Altho she is simply adorable and I appreciate her allowing us into her home.. I was hoping for a bit more.. And was the house built in 1985 or 1885?.. She spoke about how back then but back then when? PART 2: ok…. Watched video again. For I felt the need. I do believe she may have just said the wrong year. And in fact it might have been built to in 1885 and not 1985. Thats Homeworthy’s or the camera persons mistake for not catching that and having her re-record that.. I stand behind the feeling I had at the end of the video. I felt more areas could have been shown. But as a whole, it was pleasant seeing her down to earth real family decor. Beautiful homes do not need to be filled with expensive things. Ikea?? Well, Why not!!!… Its not what you have , its how you decorate with what you have. Thank you for your time making this video. And I luv ur blue sofa’s.. Sorry about your son’s broken arm. Damn furniture..

Thank you so much. I did give Homeworthy a tour of my thesis floor but I guess they edited it out. It was not super decorated for Christmas so they may have felt it didn’t go with the storyline. I also didn’t let them into my children’s room for privacy issues but rest assured the rooms are super cute ;-) thank you so much for watching. I really appreciate being able to share my home with you.

It isn't easy to come up with your own take in one of the most photographed cities in the world - but her Paris pieces are stunning! The moody library and the mini bathroom were my favorite rooms. It is a home filled with love and showered with attention and it shows. All around lovely tour and may I say I loved the simple greenery with the shiny satin green bows the best - it suited the home. The fancy X-mas decor screams money and designer, it represents pure glamour...:)- party time!

What a beautiful home. Well done! As a designer I've used F&B Light Blue on 3 different client's bedrooms and also my own. You're right, the color changes constantly and I absolutely love it. But I think F&B missed the mark on the name of the paint. My thought is that it was a Friday at 5PM, they had one more paint color to name and they all agreed on Light Blue just so they could go home. But I love the color. Good choice!

Butter cookie recipe - 3/4 cup of butter (3 sticks) softened (not melted) - 7/8 cup of sugar - 3 eggs - 4 cups of flour (for gluten free I love the brand Cup 4 Cup) - 1 teaspoon of vanilla 1. Mix together, softened butter, and sugar thoroughly 2. Add eggs and vanilla 3. Then slowly add the flour cup by cup 4. Fill a cookie press gun with dough and press out whatever pattern you like 5. Decorate 6. Bake at 3:50 for 10 minutes I finally splurged and got a KitchenAid mixer and my life has changed. Highly recommended. That or you will get an amazing arm workout. Ha ha ha.

I'm really confused about how old her house is because at 1:08, she states that "the history of this house dates back to 1987 I believe", but on the exterior of her home, there's a sign that says 1897. So was her house built in 1897?....because 1987 is not that old of a house I feel like. I absolutely love that not all of her home decor items have to have a story, because people like me, (who has not been lucky to inherit anything), rely a lot on online stores and Value Village to find interesting items to fill my home.

@mariamaratos6085 This comment format is typical of the most current generation that has no interest in proper writing. My comment simply states that punctuation is very important when writing! Fact... Phones have spell check and punctuation capabilities... easy as 1, 2, 3.

@brendaguerin5423 Wow... big word! Punctuation is very important! Run-on sentences are incorrect! And inflection in speech is seriously important... Stop supporting the dumbing down of America. This country is far, far better than that!!!

When she talks about her Dad and items from him (or other family members) it reminds me of little items my Dad made for me that I won't ever part with and how much I wish he could still be here... the importance of family and how much family still influences me as the years go by. Lovely home and host!

@Lea-zf7lm No one is bashing the host!!! It's just very peculiar that she thinks that 1987 is an "old house", has a "history," and warrants a "steward" versus being a home owner!!! She's probably 30yrs old... which speaks volumes! Her overuse of current design verbiage is what has set her up for ridicule... The exterior of the home is stunning!
