Get a cast iron tea kettle to put on top of the wood stove. It will help bring moisture back in the air, plus I love to add things like cinnamon sticks, clove, pine needles, vanilla, apple, and orange slices. The list goes on and on but when that sucker starts steamin, man oh man the house smells amazing!

I can tell you what you Canadians can claim is the most gorgeous houses. I watch the Hallmark Channel Chrismas movies. Most of the movies are filmed in Canada. I tell ya,' the houses are all different and beautiful. Just like your houses. All different and drop dead gorgeous. ❤❤❤❤❤🏡

When we moved recently I didn’t decorate the trees either. Just wanted it plain with all the chaos. But that didn’t last, last year was full blown decorated. You have to decorate the trees this year, for sure. Coz you were my inspiration to do Christmas 🎄 better.

Regarding your fire, start by stacking kindle fire starter wood like a jinga game, start fire from bottom and then stack a couple of large pieces of wood on each side. Leave the doors cracked a little while until the larger pieces start burning and then you can close doors. Add large pieces when others start burning down. Hope this helps🌲

LOVE the house!!!! I will say from experience, do not get rid of decorations until you have lived in the house. If you have the space to keep everything wait until next year to go through everything. You’d be surprised on how much you will keep because you like it even though it doesn’t go with the country vide.

It's coming along beautifully. In the loft I think it would look better with one mirror centered between the doors. They are beautiful, you could use the other one somewhere else in the house to reflect the view.

Might be tough to find with the snow but pine cones are really good fire starters and have a good pine smell. Will just need to let them dry out before you use them.

My parents have a log home with a 30 foot great room. The fans help push the hot air down to heat the room. You should have little vents on the fireplace insert in the front . Those vents need to be open so the fire can breathe. You can close the fireplace doors if the vents are open. I'm not sure how yours looks on the front of the fireplace insert.

Its much safer to close the fireplace after you start it it will heat the space better and be safer. You can probably watch videos on how to use it . Merry Christmas guys love the daily videos

We love,love,love your new home. When we first saw your new digs, we thought no way were you going to get the decorations done but after many days of what seemed confusion(to us) it has turned into a beautiful Christmas scene.
