Angie try this... close the damper and slightly crack the door until the fire gets going and then open the damper half way and close door. Then as the coals began to build . which you want alot. then adjust damper to either slow the fire burn or open it more for a faster burn. so i would recommend maybe trying that. the fan only disperses the hot air throughout the room. its worth a try. this is how i do it with mine.

Yes, and start with a layer of bunched up newspaper, then dry kindling. Once that is roaring, add a log or two at a time

Warm lights for certain... Salt & Vinegar chips and everything else has been in America long time. 53 and I have seen them my entire adult life... The house looks amazing. Merry Christmas 🎄🎅🎄🤶

Your fire is called a Canara, when you shut the doors and open the air vent a little and turn on the fan it will heat your house more. Also you shouldn't need to keep lighting it every day, if you close the doors and close the air vent overnight it should last till morning. Opening the air vent all the way helps start a fire but once it's going close it so only a little air gets in, this makes the wood last longer than having the doors open, you will find you go through a lot less wood this way 😊

I had an idea of what you should get for your log house. Snowshoes! We have our house decorated with rustic cabin decor and I have a pair of snow shoes on our wall. They are so cute and they would look so adorable in your house. I LOVE your new home and I look forward to your video every day! everything is wonderful, even the slightly less warm lights on the arch... they are kinda perfect in that they transition into the kitchen with the bar cart having some blue lights in them and the white tree, it looks good IMO. The mirrors are beyond perfect, they just bring in all the lights and I can imagine during the day are incredible at lightning up the darkness of that space! my first thought with the cute gnomes your sister made you was to DIY a wreath with them as the superstars! So ready for a fresh spin on the glow up routine, proud I stuck with mine too... it helped me immensely during the last leg of my pregnancy where my post partum doesn't feel ughhh at all.

Angie, you can always use an tension rod to put your garland in the entryway. all you gotta do is wrap the garland around the tension rod and then put the rod between your entryway.

Hi Angie, love the videos, they’re part of my daily wind down routine. I have plantar fasciitis and bone spur on my heel and as far as walking on the wood floors indoors, I put Superfeet orthotic inserts inside my slippers and it really makes a difference. And you can still feel cozy with those cute slippers on lol!

Hey Angie, my fireplace is very similar and way it works is, once the fire gets really hot the blower will automatically kick on ( make sure the blower is on) and I just have to put a log in every so often. It's going to make a huge difference in heating that house. By the way, your new home is beautiful 🥰 Congrats!! ✨🎉🍾

The so-called 'warm' lights, we bought those same ones for outside, and that 'fluttering' is super annoying, so we ended up throwing them out! I lived in Ottawa for four and a half years and actually loved it until 2016 when they started using cold white Christmas lights and street lights downtown. It totally ruined the vibe of my daily evening walks!! I think it’s better now but I’ve since moved back to my hometown. When they started using the cold white lights it kind of felt like a sketchy area even though I was walking on Elgin and Wellington, two really nice streets!! Hopefully now they’ve moved back to warm white lights !
