I lived all my life in Southeastern Kentucky and if you’re in the mountains we tend to all do the same things. We’ve done or been a part of everything you said in your video. We’d go cut a cedar tree for our Christmas tree. Our church always puts a play on the Sunday before Christmas. We had our fruit baskets. We’ve had the carolers singing to us and we’ve also been the carolers. We’ve got strong family traditions that we’ve carried on from our elders that have gone on. We keep their memory alive. We have strong family ties. We all know the old Christmas in January. I am blessed to live in these mountains.

Beautiful Josh! I'm 64 and it's all so different. The innocence is gone. I hate artificial trees! I read the other day that only 15% are real now. My Pawpaw, who was a master carpenter, would cut the ugliest tree! Then he would cut branches from others, drill holes in the original, and literally build a beautiful one! I am a huge traditionalist and I cry a lot these days because of how quickly it's disappearing. Folks, please remember what it's really all about. If you remove Christ, there is no Christmas! Merry Christmas and God bless you Josh. I pray the new year bring's you great and continued success on this venture. You truly have a gift for it!

Thanks for sharing a great video for this time of the year. This is a wonderful time of the year, as well as all year long, to focus on family, friends and the One who made it all possible, Jesus Christ. I loved the landscape, the crackling fire and the music which really set the atmosphere and mood for this video. This video warmed my heart and took me back to the memories of what I call the old fashioned Christmas when I was growing up. Thanks for another wonderful video. Keep them coming.

Merry Christmas and thanks for sharing! Real tree and the icicles I loved. Mom would make fudge and put in black walnuts from our picking. Dad would have fireworks and we have a blast outside while it was snowing. Dad would drive us around and see other decorations. My brother and I got sleighs for Christmas, and we had the perfect snow that year! I had the old treetop for years until the year 2000 when it started to crumble apart. I have a window light decoration that I am using today that is 64 years old. Miss the old Christmas, but memories are great!

We were poor gorwing up. I remember our Christmas celebration was just an upgrade of our daily meals. I remember we have had loaf bread, butter, coke, a 3rd rate cake, and that was so festive to me at that time. I felt like we were rich becaues we had bread. We had no gifts because i know my parents coudln't afford to give us one, But to me our Christmases had been festive always, year after year.
