"Hygge" is difficult to define, we use it in many different ways. for example, if you've been out to eat with friends, you can say it was "Hyggeligt" (its was nice) or you can say you're going home to "Hygge dig" (being cozy and relaxing) or you can ask someone "Hyggede I jer" (Did you have a good time)

In one of your videos you asked: is hygge also something about sex? Yes, it can be about sex. If a guy fx asks his girlfriend: shouldn’t we go home and hygge? With a glimps in the eye, it means sex. Hygge is about making you and your sorroundings feel good, and obviously what makes me feel good doesn’t necessarily make you feel the same….therefore hygge is a personal thing, it can be a tradition or something all new. This is why it is so difficult to give one definite answer, when people from other countries ask “what is hygge”. Hygge can be almost anything. Some people love meeting friends for a night of food and a horror movie, I would personally hate that. I love Christmas, but many people don’t like it at all. I hope this explains a little better why hygge is so hard to put your finger on, but the high priority of “hygge” and therefore a high priority of quality of life, is so deeply imbedded in the danish culture today. You will have to come and feel it for yourself.😊

Sorry but “the little mermaid guy” was just HILLARIOUS 😂😂 he’s known for much much MUCH more than that. He’s written a lot of the best known fairytales that disney and other well known studios has televised. He’s basically one of the greatest authors of all time. And yes, we honor him very much so! His original childhood home in Odense has also been well preserved and the road named after him. The whole area around his home has actually been preserved and is a well known tourist attraction called “den gamle by” (the old town) where they even still do some of the old traditions back when H. C. Andersen lived, like having the old police guards patrol the town (mostly for show) in the old uniforms. And all this is not to forget the little mermaid statue in Copenhagen. He wrote thumbelina, the little mermaid, the snow queen (the story frozen is based on), the ugly duckling, the princess and the pea, the emperors new clothes, the sandman - and those are only the ones i think you would probably know/have heard about.

Hygge can be anything you find nice to do. Hygge is the verb, hyggeligt is the adjective we use for things we find enjoyable and cosy. And it can be pretty much anything. The classics are meeting up with family and friends, cosying up on the couch with someone or playing games and similar, but it will also be used to describe a drunken company Christmas party or going for a long hard hike with friends. Pretty much anything that’s enjoyable, normally with other people, but it can also just be enjoying a book alone in the sun. Even chores can be described as hyggelig if you are a group who spend a day painting house while chatting. So you almost can’t use it wrong, if you enjoyed it, you can say it was hyggelig.

I recommend starting with these songs: "Voittamaton", "Kellareiden kasvatit", "Sori", and for a more defiant vibe, a track from "7 veljestä"! When Elastinen and Iso H pursued solo careers, Elastinen found more mainstream success. If you decide to explore Elastinen’s solo music, I recommend starting with his early albums: "Elaksis Kivi", "Anna soida", and "E.L.A.". I hope to see the reaction video of Fintelligens in my feed soon!

*SIGH!* This again! Tivoli is the THIRD oldest amusement park in the world Bakken (Also Denmark, 1583) and Prater (Vienna, 1766) is older!. BTW the lake in Tivoli is actually part of the old moat surrounding Copenhagen. The old moat and ramparts was a DO-NOT-BUILT-area until 1843 when George Carstensen was permitted to found Tivoli. That let to dismantling of the old defences of Copenhagen. Today if you look at a map of Copenhagen, find Tivoli and then just follow the parks north and east until you reach Kastellet (The star-fortress north of the medieval part of Copenhagen). Those parks are the remnants of the city's defences!

Reason why u can't film some areas at Christiania is several, but 2 big ones is that some areas are a bit private. People live there. :P But that is not the biggest reason. The 2nd and biggest reason is because af the "hash" sale, which in Denmark is illegal. Both to sell and to buy.

Yes Tivoli is open now and have the market every year. Closing hours vary. Friday and Saturday it's at midnight. ohh I forgot. We don't celebrate Christmas, but Jul. So it is kind of pagan all of it. Christianity took away the pagan from the Vikings, but they didn't dared to touch the Jul. You cant take all the photos at Christiania as you wish now. The prohibition was only in one street where "greenery" was sold, and that street is gone now.

Christiania 'used to' view themselves as a non-governmental, secular town (like a large hippie commune) within Copenhagen but 'broken free' of Danish society, laws, etc. Then during the 80s especially, when biker gangs started spreading throughout Europe, many of these saw the place as an opportune location to drive not-so-legal business. So for a long time, weapons and drugs of different classes were being sold and handled in the small streets of Christiania, making residents feel unsafe. They had some back and forth struggles for some years and kind of came to the "agreement" between residents and biker gangs, that the biker gangs could sell their stuff in certain streets in the area (the (in)famous Pusher Street or 'green light district') but that neither weapons or hard drugs were welcome. Due to the illegal activity, that's also why they had the "no photos" signs all over. That went okay, not great, for a long time while the Hell's Angels were the biggest active criminal gang out there (there were other smaller ones too, but nothing that filled the space as much as HA for a while) - then by the shift of the millennium, the other criminal groups out there started growing, more came in and tried to claim more of the sales action and area for themselves, to the point where by the 2010s shootings and violent episodes were becoming more and more common out there, between conflicting gangs, locals getting increasingly disturbed by all the violent crime rates, until finally like last year or earlier this year (I don't remember the date lol), the locals reached an agreement with Copenhagen municipality, to 'demolish' Pusher Street by removing the cobblestone pavement (also because there were infrastructure maintenance updates that needed to be carried out), so the rivaling gangs couldn't take up that space to sell drugs there any more (also accompanied by loads of police at first, after many years of regular "raids" to also hinder the drugs sales and illegal activity). And now it seems like it finally took hold? I think the few gangs that still operate in the area are more scattered now, less organised and fixed into one spot (but I'm sure there are still some of them around). The locals, these days, would probably like to call themselves the same anti-authoritarian hippies that founded the area in the 70s, but in all honesty, it's become its own kind of niche that they find extremely prestigious to be a part of and treat it as such (for most people, you can't take residency in Christiania unless you have an 'insider' that can put in a good word for you, usually family of lifetime friends), the locals (at least used to) take popular vote when new residents were trying to move in. The houses there are also for the most part 'home made', so cost is probably closest to just like... How much you need to spend on materials. They have an area of like 15k m2 that they were low-key forced to sell to the municipality a few years ago, which is being converted into apartment buildings I think (for the general public, so seems they probably won't keep Christiania as traditionally secular in years to come).
