Thank you for not putting hot glue on a vintage ornament. The small purple shaded ornaments really add alot of beauty to this wreath.

The greening pins are a wonderful way to use and preserve the vintage ornaments. I hadn't seen that prior to your video. Also, I really appreciate you attention to detail in you instruction and listing of supplies. Details are helpful, and a lot of times are left out of these kind of how-to videos. Your attention to these details sets your video apart from the rest, in a positive way. Thank you!

Your wreath turned out beautiful. I love the fact that there aren't gaps. You did good. I use cheap garland along with the smaller ornaments to fill in gaps. Who says cheap garland from Dollar Tree isn't so good. It works wonders. You can also double the garland for a fuller look. You can also use other things for fillers. When you work with a styrofoam you can use floral pins, and fill in like that. You can fill in with holly, poinsettia's on their connected stems. I prefer the styrofoam. Hot glue sticks to styrofoam best. It's whatever one prefers. All-in-all, you did good. Absolutely beautiful wreath!!

Thank you for this great tutorial. I just made a wreath following all of your suggestions and love how it turned out! My only feedback is that the greening pins were not sharp enough to easily go through the velvet ribbon I used so I had to use a tack to start the hole first. It was very time consuming too, but well worth the effort.

Could you have used some wire on the vintage ornaments and then pinned so they could hang a bit? That way we could see the beautiful designs in the middle of the vintage ornaments? You could hide the wires with the newer, smaller ornaments? Just a thought. Looks great though! 👍

How well did the pins hold compared to glue? I made one using glue for my mom, but it hasn't been hung up yet so I do not know how well the ornaments will stay. I am making another one for someone else and want to make it as sturdy as possible.
@themadeupokie
@themadeupokie 3 жыл бұрын
I’ve had my hung up now for about 18 months (yeah...I never took it down this year 😊) and have only had one fall off, which actually happened not long after I made it. It was one I’d attached with a greening pin and I think it wasn’t in very well. Luckily it fell on carpet and didn’t break so I re-pinned it and it’s been fine since. It’s on a door that gets opened/closed a low-medium amount. I think one factor to consider is whether you want to keep the ornaments in tact. I feel like glue means they can’t be repurposed later for something else. I can’t imagine ever taking mine apart since I love it so much, but I *could* and reuse the vintage ornaments. Hope that helps. I’m sure your family will love their wreaths! ❤️ Happy holidays!
