I was raised in New York and my parents moved us to Tennessee in 1990 but I remember my parents and 3 sisters going into the city to look at the store windows and go ice skating. We allways grabbed roasted nuts .We went shopping froze our butts off but it was my absolute favorite part of Christmas.I miss it so much.❤🎅🤶🎄☃️

@@M0c0s thanks for the reminder, I will have to wait until the next year 2024 as I had to use up a lot of my annual leave due to unforeseen circumstances. Very kind of you. If you never been to Ireland it's well worth a visit. Christmas is good here too, nice atmosphere especially in smaller towns. Ennis Co Clare is really quaint and has a nice vibe. You're not far from The Cliff's of Moher, Bunratty Castle and Folk Park, The wild Atlantic way, Galway, Limerick The West of Ireland is spectacular more rugged and temperamental depending on the weather.

They stopped doing it years ago but I loved it when the Paramount Theater inside Madison Square Garden would do "A Christmas Carol," Play. They did the theater over in English 1830's decor and a somewhat famous star would play scrooge. Some of which were Rodger Daltrey from the Who, Kelsey Grammer, and the dude who was the star of Lez Miz at the time. They did this at least ten years in a row starting in the late 90's. Then they just stopped doing it even though the dates, Thanksgiving to a little past New Years, always sold out. We would go into the city, see the sites. Shop at Macy's and other stores. Eat at a nice restaurant, see the play, then visit the tree in Rockefeller Center. I wish they would bring that play back. Last year we went to a sort of street fair by the Library on 42nd street that was a lot of fun as well.
