We have been hit hard by the glass plants, coal mines, and steel mills all closing the past 20 years.
We have evolved into a hardy breed, surviving by shining one another's shoes if the situations call for it, so long as everyone has a full belly.
2016 has been no different. We pinch pennies tight enough to hear ol' Abe grumble back in protest.
That is when Harrison County's Good Samaritan called up Anmoore's finest.

This was a nice story. I can remember driving through a road side check at Christmas time where the police are looking for drunk drivers. An officer handed me two hockey tickets to the local city team. Ottawa 67’s to be exact. I took my dad who was just on the cusp of becoming really ill with cancer. I will never forget that afternoon at the game and the popcorn we munched on together. My dad so loved hockey. Don’t remember who won the game that day, just that wonderful feeling of being with my dad. This December he has been gone 15 years.

West Virginia is Near & Dear to my heart, as All my Kin came from there,& my Childhood was Jug Full of Wonderful Memories. The Country Preacher was my Great Grandfather,& instilled the importance of Roots and family, friends that's still being passed down, even tho we're spread far & wide now. This was just Beautiful to me. "Almost Heaven" hit a Mighty rough patch, but by God's Hand, the People Do get by! Things are lookin' up again for Everyone, but I'm Especially pleased to see WV Back in Business!!!

In sports,in the workplace...all nice people. Maybe all the nicest ones come to Canada! I talked with an older German guy tonight at work. I mentioned my favourite German footballers and of course he knew them all. I delivered mail for many years and don’t recall anything except good customers,originally from your country, offering me a drink or a snack all the time. I think part of this was due to the fact they got a card instead of a ticket that they would've had to pay for and then... the money given to use as they like or to fix their cars is precious. Officer Stout is to be commended for more than just handing these out, but b/c he actually gave away the money that was given to do this. Sometimes, I'd like to believe very, very few percentage in America, a cop is a bad egg just like there are bad eggs in every profession, but here is a Secret Santa giving the money that Officer Stout in fact in turn gave to unsuspecting motorists. Bravo.
