I got an off question not related to this video but related to importing videos into CTA 4. I created an animated candle which has a video effect on it, I rendered it as a popvideo in a program by reallusion called iclone. When I bring the popvideo into CTA, and I open the time line I want the video to continue playing as it will stop playing with he flame on after the flame is gone. I tried to import it again and hide it then show it after the video stops playing the first time, to no avail. So I want to loop it, however there's no way I can do that, none of the properties of the video (which I imported as a prop) will allow me to do that. The only way I can see a solution is to make a longer video with the flame on, but I would need to render it as an *.mp4, wmv, or any format like that, transfer the video into Sony Vegas my video editor, make it transparent background then transfer that into iclone, then render it as a popvideo and finally send it to CTA 4 to play all those 1800 frames. Too much work. in iclone I would just send the video, then make copies of it by looping it with the loop option in the timeline but CTA does not allow me to see where the video is in the timeline at all so there's no way for me to make copies of it. So my question is, how can I loop a video so it repeats itself till the end of my frames. So if I have 1800 frames, i want it to loop all the way till the end of the 1800 frames. Do you know how I can accomplish this task in CTA 4? I hope you understood my question, thanks.

I did some tests exporting popvideo from iClone and importing it into CTA4 and each time the video just automatically loops by default (I did a 900 frame pop video export into a 2000 frame CTA project) There are no controls in CTA for how the video plays. If you do have a video component it's usually better to define a workflow that allows you to add it in post production using your video editor to give you more control and options on how the video is played.

@@animlife You pointed out something I already know, but I did not pay attention to the entire video I rendered in iclone, I forgot to render only the frames where the effect is on, so I rendered the entire thing meaning that after the effect of the flame is off I have empty frames with no effect before it loops back again. Now I rendered only the frames where the effect is on, and the problem is fixed, thanks you very much for pointing that out again about the loop otherwise I would have had to do the entire process as I described and it would have worked but I would have spent a lot of time, you are a time saver, much appreciate it.

How long did this take you (start to finish)?

I started work on the actual animation of the project on November 28th and finished on December 17th. So nearly 3 weeks. But I was only working on it for a couple of hours in the evenings (and not every day) and 4-5 hours on the weekends. If I was to compress the time down, maybe a week and a half working 4-5 hours per day?
