CHRISTMAS MEANS ITV

very rare jingle for ITV Christmas last used in 1976
jingle was criticized by religious groups.
Managed to clean up original logo and cut out the ITV and then re-edit with the ITV as an overlay -
The jingle was sung by the Mike Samms Singers. This poor quality is all I have had to work with, I tried to enhance the first copy. If anyone has a cleaner copy of the jingle-or the logo, please let me know.

I’ve been wanting to see this for years and years, I remember being so disappointed when it wasn’t used the following year! I’m in Dublin and so we seen UTV and occasionally HTV if the weather was right. But Christmas means ITV has been subliminally at the back of my mind for years and every now and then I searched. Tonight I seen it, I was 9 then and mid 50’s now, if this person could talk to me then... thanks so much for uploading!

Yes there was an accompanying bed, I can hear it in my head but sadly not on tape! Great to see it after all these years.

There was. Something like 'Christmas means ITV, it's/there's magic in the air, all the stars you love to see will bring you Christmas cheer!' Then repeat 'Christmas means ITV.'

@@daisychain3007 No u weren't wrong at all! It was about 1973/74 I think. Don't know if u remember there were little acts in between the jingles/adverts, children dressing a Xmas tree, making Xmas pud, singing carols at a front door? The children were from my Junior school!
