This gave me the idea to make a steampunk fish, so thanks. It's going to look really cool!

It looks like you all had a lot of fun! Dr. Seuss is really big in the US. I don't know of anyone in the US who has not read his books or seen The Grinch since it's been on TV for weeks before Christmas. The original cartoon version was released first as a 1966 animated TV film narrated by Boris Karloff, who also provided the Grinch's voice, and that original cartoon as well as the other newer versions play on TV for the holidays as well. The creator is Theodor Geisel, better known to the world as Dr. Seuss, the author and illustrator was born in Springfield, Massachusetts on March 2, 1904, and died September 24, 1991, at age 87. Geisel graduated from Dartmouth College, where he was editor of the school’s humor magazine, and studied at Oxford University. There he met Helen Palmer, his first wife and the person who encouraged him to become a professional illustrator. Back in America, Geisel worked as a cartoonist for a variety of magazines and in advertising. The first children’s book that Geisel wrote and illustrated, “And to Think That I Saw It On Mulberry Street,” was rejected by over two dozen publishers before making it into print in 1937. Geisel’s first bestseller, “The Cat in the Hat,” was published in 1957. If you get Netflix you might be able to see all the different versions of The Grinch. If not you should be able to get a copy of it on DVD fairly cheap. The live-action one with Jim Carrey is pretty good too.

We did! Ohh wow thanks for letting me know. I saw the live action movie with Jim Carrey but just never realized what it was based on. And I didn’t know that it goes way back, that’s awesome. I loved dr. Seuss land. It’s great that they keep him alive through universal😊

The suite is amazing! I didn't realize they were that big! I love the walk from Sapphire to city walk. I'm a fast walker lol. I timed myself in December and it took me 6 mins to get from the resort to the IOA gate 😄. That's funny about the chocolate! I've heard that a lot! I'm glad you had fun though! I'm still bummed I didn't get to meet up with you guys! Definitely next time you come I'll be there!

Girl, I agree, that would have bummed me out some to have another rider keep doing that. Those muggles, I tell ya, always find ways to take the magic away. 😂 It is always so fun and interesting to hear of others not in the US not know about things that are a big part of our childhoods, and vice versa. We have some friends in Norway, and I've learned SOOO much I never even knew were common or traditions. I love it! Same here on 3D rides and, well, even 3D movies. They just don't do it for me but I'm a lover of the more analog/physical approach and having actual figures and the art and work that goes into creating those. Haha! I see that all the time, of Europeans finding chocolate here to be ... well, not up to snuff. Here in the U.S. we just looove to oversweeten everything! I feel like that's a part of the issue. Do you have any good European chocolate recommendations? I did a taste test this year and would love to do one next year (Harry Potter themed, of course) and try out some European chocolate. OMG I forgot they opened a Voodoo there. I live in Portland, OR where Voodoo originated and their flagship is. It's a big travel destination for people who come here. And after living here for a while, they've become much too sweet for me. haha! It's also known by locals that there are better donuts but the vibe there is super fun! Thanks for bringing us along! 💖 Love & lumos, Aubrey

It's so nice to read your comment, thanks for leaving it! Haha, yes the chocolate... it's a thing. I can recommend ordering from the WB UK shop (if that's possible). And if you can get your hands on Milka or Tony Chocolonely, cote d'or (all great!). I think it's the ingredients though. They put real cacao in ours and in the US they use preservatives. Yeah voodoo was def too sweet for me lol. Loved the vibe though and the merch that they had! Ohh I would love to go to Norway some day! And yes Europe is def different when it comes to culture (and size lol). I love the US though, everyone is so excited and full of energy.

@@LeandaBrooks Of course! 🥰 Oooo I'll DEFINITELY check them out! Ah, yes that does make more sense, about the real cacao. I really wish this country didn't put so much crap in things. Bah! Voodoo (and Powells) is kinda the epitome of our phrase 'Keep Portland Weird.' A part of (many reasons) why we moved here. A couple of weirdos ourselves. haha I haven't been to Norway myself either. Actually I haven't been to Europe! My husband has and is rather obsessed with Germany. It's funny you say that because I feel like I'm the only 'excited' one at times ... but it could just be in my little bubble and workspace. haha! Thank you so much for sharing!!

@@LoveLumos I got hot cocoa as a Christmas gift. It was from the UK and had no artificial ingredients, but was WAY too sweet anyway. But yes, the US has terrible chocolate, lol

@@LoveLumos No kidding, when I spent the summer in London after high school, I devoured chocolate bars! Before then I never ate chocolate and would have said I didn't like it
