ELLEN! I feel this! Having worked in retail for 9 years and listening to that EXACT song every year.....I just want to spend November wrapped up in a blanket with hot cocoa!

@jamess069 Жыл бұрын
@@Poisonjam7I haven’t noticed it before now, but this year some places already had Christmas stuff out and Christmas music playing on September 11th. I remember because I thought I somehow had the month wrong since it seemed like (and we actually had) just celebrated Labour Day the week before. So having Christmas stuff that early threw me.

Same in our city....when I was a kid christmas stuff wouldn't happen until after Remembrance day, but now the Xmas decor is out at the same time as the spooky stuff

Same here. Wasn't everywhere, but seemed like the super christian places skipped Halloween decorations and sales and just pretended that they should start the Christmas stuff instead of waiting.

Autumn is such an underrated season that gets overshadowed by winter and Christmas. I mean, there's some things like Thanksgiving but I always felt like Thanksgiving was just "Christmas lite" u know? It's different depending on where you live but northern places like UK, Canada or even parts of the US autumn is so pretty, and that's when you have all the maximum harvests. It's great

I worked in one department store for one week shy of nine years in a large shopping centre.One particular year, the last week of August (supposedly popular with tourists and people buying early) had Christmas items AND MUSIC at the same time as a summer/beachwear section. It is ironic that you can never easily buy 'out of season' items in shops anyway

Constant reminders to buy things to celebrate Christmas. I just want constant reminders to celebrate other things like, "You managed to make it to work today!" or, "Good on you for not yelling at the brat making a ruckus upstairs!" or even, "You managed to get a great bargain on Halloween goods the day after! Hooray!" Little holidays for the every day. I could use a burger ad for that before Christmas

It started in october. When I was a kid there were four advent weeks before christmas now there are four christmas months. October: People on tv are crazy about christmas. November: People on tv and in stores are crazy about christmas December: Everyone is crazy about christmas January: After christmas sales (This is PG 13 version the real version is not publicable) I think there should be a christmas moratorium from 28th of december "current" year until 21st of december "the next" year. With an exception in 6th of december (In my country on 6th of december there is a Saint Nicholas celebration). Christmas become something I can describe people are racing to. buy gifts pretending they like everything about each other. Why do people need a holiday to express emotions and why do thing they need express pretend emotions? Easier explanation would be valentine day. In my opinion if two people love each other they don't need a day they should love each other every day. While Valentine commercialize love Christmas commercialize: Love, solidarity, respect, righteousness, selflessness and many other good characteristic. Some people think just because they pretend they have the right characteristic in holiday they they are good people, but (I will use a very figurative example): A person who poured soup to homeless people on christmas (while they didn't even prepared the soup they just show up) don't help an elderly person (who asked them for help) to go through a crosswalk is not as good as they pretend.
