Grandma Arbuckle was awesome. That's what I love about A Garfield Christmas...it has a lot of heart and NOT in a cheezy, pandering, or lame way like some Christmas specials go. *I loved Grandma in the Thanksgiving special too where she showed up on a motorcycle and saved the day. What a badass!

@@SunnysFilms It's weird...no one seems to remember the specials and they don't show them anymore. I remember when they showed them on TV...it was a big deal back then when you got a primetime Garfield special (sometimes twice a year...circa 1983-1991)! But yeah the Christmas one is REALLY REALLY good and still holds up VERY well.

I could answer some of those questions since, well, you know. Being a Black nerd myself who also grew up in the'80s and still have a fondness for that decade of my youth. That evil MOTU figure that could transform into multiple types. You're thinking of Modulok. His robotic counterpart was Multibot. Sadly, I never got either of those myself. I remember that Cool Like That Christmas special. Barely. After watching it recently on YT, I could see why memories of it were hidden so long. YEESH! A very merry Christmas to you. That K-Mart Layaway story makes me so happy I had gamer parents, they would buy the new systems for themselves and all I had to do was wish for the games I wanted. It also was easier for them to understand the aspect of upgrading to new consoles.

One of my favorite Christmas memories was the year I got a PS2. My dad got me some games to go with it. A couple I remember were Ultimate Spider-Man and Super Dragon Ball Z. I was feeling sick but was really happy to get that.

Andre...I rediscovered the 1980's Garfield specials this year. I have a lot of fond memories of all of them...especially A Garfield Christmas...THANK YOU for bringing that up. Everyone mentions Charlie Brown around Christmas, but no one seems to remember the Garfield one (or mention the other specials from around the same time). What happened to Garfield's Halloween Adventure? I remember for years they would play that around the holiday. Glad I was able to see it again after so long. *Recent favorite after rewatching the specials is Babes & Bullets. Sam Spayed? Hilarious.

I love "A Garfield Christmas", as well! It's one of my all-time favorites! The official Garfield KZbin channel uploaded it on their channel and I finally got to watch it again this year! I hadn't seen it in years, not since I was a kid and my Mom taped it for me and my sister to watch on VHS. I'm so glad I got to see it again! Andre, I remember "A Cool Like That Christmas". It only aired once on FOX. Interestingly, the special was actually a pilot for a series that never got greenlit which I think would've been titled "A Hard Place"; it's generally not a good idea to have your new animated show's pilot double as its' Christmas episode; that never seems to work out -- reference Ralph Baskshi's "Tattertown", which aired on Nick @ Nite and likewise never made it past the pilot. One of the weirdest Xmas specials that I can recall was an NBC animated special titled "Deck the Halls with Wacky Walls", which doubled as a promotion for the then popular Wacky Wall-Walkers toys. In it, the Wacky Wall-Walkers were classified as aliens who come to Earth looking for the Star of Bethlehem. The special sported some notable voice talent: Howie Morris, Peter Cullen, Marvin Kaplan, Tress MacNeille and one of the last vocal performances of Daws Butler as Wacky, the group's leader.

I had to learn flash for work to do websites and informational graphics and some simple games. It was a lot of work but it has been like 20 years dying, I guess it's good it's finally gone. Some people have approached me about their informational graphics in flash and how to extract them, but I really don't think you can. I learned some HTML 5 but recently I'm trying to teach myself Blender... but it's SOOOO complicated!

Cool like that Christmas! I saw that when it aired and couldn’t remember what it was called. The parts that really stick out in my memory are the kid flying away and the cop radar saying “Warp,” and Boys 2 Men.
