I've never had anything like what your family does. These will go down the generations. Your traditions mark the milestones and memories of all your lives that the girls will remember when they grow up. They will laugh, cry and share with their families while you are sitting in your rocking chairs and your hair is gray.

I hope now that you feel you don't need to go over the top, that you stick to thay mindset for Jace and Mila. They're so little and as a mama myself it's easy to get carried away, but like you said, they don't remember the toys, they remember the experiences, the family time, the cozy home days, the magic ✨❤️ giving some Christmas presents early for the playroom now is a great idea for sure! But don't then go and buy extra for the sake of them having loads on Christmas morning coz they really won't care at that age. I'm so looking forward to the christmas vlogs 🎄🎅🏼

On Christmas Eve we go out and look at Christmas lights. Watch polar express drink hot cocoa. We also read the story of Jesus from the Bible. We also do the story of a pickle. On Christmas Eve I will hide a pickle ornament in the tree whoever finds it first gets to open the first gift and have blessings in the new year. I do get them new pajamas and an ornament. We do an advent calendar.

My family used to take a Christmas Eve picture on our stairs. We lived in a center hall Colonial house very popular in New England in the 50s and 60s. The kids bathroom was right at the top of the stairs and looking back at the pictures over the years we would say “ look we remembered to close the bathroom door that year!” Or “ look we forgot to close the door that year!” 🤣 When we moved in 1975 to Pennsylvania we stopped doing the pictures as my four older siblings were now adults and didn’t always come for Christmas.

What is boxing day?
@angelabutterworth88162 жыл бұрын
Boxing Day is a holiday celebrated after Christmas Day, occurring on the second day of Christmastide (26 December).[1] Though it originated as a holiday to give gifts to the poor, today Boxing Day is primarily known as a shopping holiday. It originated in Great Britain and is celebrated in a number of countries that previously formed part of the British Empire. The attached bank holiday or public holiday may take place on 28 December if necessary to ensure it falls on a weekday. Boxing Day is also concurrent with the Catholic holiday Saint Stephen's Day. In parts of Europe, such as several regions of Spain,[2][3] Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, the Netherlands, Italy, Poland, Slovakia,[4] Croatia, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Belgium, Norway, and Ireland, 26 December is Saint Stephen's Day, which is considered the second day of Christmas.

I think the Elves are going to have a ramble through Mila's clean nappies of all things and strew them around the floor of her bedroom or place them on the stair case. I know, those naughty elves think of everything. With regards to advent calendars, I think homemade ones are best because the gift can be more of a keepsake than pre purchased ones.
