Hello Nick and Jill, definitely need to keep celebrating Christmas, loved looking around the garden Centre, we took Belle too one near us last Sunday, such fun and we bought a new tree a snowy one its not so tall as the one we have been putting up, it nearly touched the ceiling and its getting a little hard for us to decorate these days. LIKE 16 So Fresh Tree it is! We gave up on Fresh trees, because as much as we liked the fragrance, the on going pine needles we kept finding six months later! The other reason is these trees find their way onto the pavements after Christmas and go into land fill. So that was the deciding point of purchasing a false tree many years ago. I prefer the real tree. As a kid our tree went up on 1st December and came down on the evening my Birthday finished. 4th January. We don't put one up because we have never spent a Christmas at home. It's always at Amanda's rents or mine so we've never bothered.

Real is more "troublesome", BUT also more charming if you ask me, not to mention the smell of it, and the charm of when the pine needles starts to fall off, and you get them up in your socks, nothing beats it. @@GENerationXplorers Thank youuu 🎄♥️ Those garden centres are amazing so much stuff to choose from ... like a Christmas wonderland that just goes on forever ... loving the snowman dance Jilly, & Nick, at last you get to meet a bear. I have to admit some of those artificial trees look pretty good though agree with Nick about the spineless (is that the correct term) one 🤔. Gosh that mans got his own forest in that shed, must have been an awesome scent in there. Haha "You're coming home with us " sounds like you've adopted "him" 🤣 ... Hope he had his seatbelt on in the car😆 Your hallway looked beautiful and the tree looked fabulous once you got him home and dressed 😁. It's a real tree for us every time. We live 5mins walk from a garden centre(the type that just sells plants !) that has a field of Christmas trees growing behind it. You pick one out and it's delivered about half an hour later. 😊. Hopefully that will be happening in about a week's time. Haha I was laughing along with you on Santa's arrival and looking forward to the Christmas Sparkle video. The Krampus is always a bit scary. the needles can be a real pain cant they? I can remember when I had a carpeted lounge and I was still finding needles on the lead up to the following Christmas, they are incredibly hard to clean up after! some great artificial ones out there though! if we don’t get snow again we do have the possibility of nuclear fallout to look forward to! might start stocking up on tinned goods and pot noodles now! hope you have a wonderful Christmas!

Oh thank you Wills, was hoping someone would see the return of the number plate, im glad its you guys, loved telling the story of its origins to you guys in Whitby when we met! We had to dig it out and give it a good old dusting. Hoping it will appeal to these new subscribers we have miraculously got! That end cutting service is invaluable. Shaved about three hours off getting my tree erected! 😵‍💫 I’m getting off topic! Three more weeks of Xmas on this channel, would love to kinda boss it somehow, like you we are HUGE fans of Xmas. It’s not always on trend when it happens depending on current events but it always holds a special place in our hearts. Hopefully this year the two will meet. Come the 20th of December we will be back to slamming the NHS, asking who is to blame for retail decline, doing collabs and even presenting new places to go on holiday! Mrs Metalman was wanting a new tree this year, this was after the new one she bought brand new 3 years ago :o(. That was some amazing garden centre mind and although some of the real trees looked really nice it has always been an artificial one for me but £50 was not a bad price to be fair. Haha, I thought that tree would never fit in the car, I was expecting it half size when you got home :o). I always wait until after Remembrance Day and some time later on that week or the following weekend, our tree goes up. Great to see Santa on his sleigh around the boro but shame he needed a police escort...Lots to look forward to on your channel and a real Christmassy feel - I love it, cheers Alan

thanks Alan 🙏 we have always done a real tree in this house. it almost becomes a two day event where we search for it and destroy any remnant of it on its departure. but wow, the artificial trees!? there are some absolutely incredible ones out there. we would like a couple to add to our arsenal. big fan of the remake of Miracle on 34th street growing up, they decorate their tree during the Macys thanksgiving parade and I’ve spent the last twenty years trying to recreate that magic. we get the tree on the days leading up, watch the Macy’s parade, decorate the tree and sample some of the items we will try on the big day. it has become our Christmas Staple. clickbait title beside, we do have Russian drones flying over our neighbourhoods searching out targets, we do have an idiot PM following an even worse President allowing missiles to be fired into Russia! you want to provoke a terminally ill president of Russia that is trying to do what is rightfully his to do; reclaim the USSR? that is his legacy. please don’t kill any innocent Russians with our military, he can destroy us all. we have a GCHQ less than a mile away, we won’t survive the blast..

thank you Matt! yes we always go down the real tree route but there are some fantastic artificial alternatives out there now. I’m not a fan of those “really designer” ones that don’t even look tree shaped, I’ve seen ones that look pyramid/cone shaped and that’s just wrong on so many levels. I kind of like that no two real trees you but are ever the same and that gives each Christmas a unique feel. I feel on a bounds now to get a shot in each video with every piece of tech we have! £50 was a decent price, its just a tiny bit over 8ft but he didn’t charged me the 7ft price! We will be returning tomorrow to get my mum one!

Given the title I thought this video was going to be more doom and gloom! I'm pleased you didn't go down that route. Having just travelled home from Gran Canaria it was great to see them getting ready for Feliz Navidad with celebrations starting this weekend (yes, incredibly bad timing on our behalf to be heading home on Friday!) One big tree for one small car! 🤣 As for real or artificial trees, Mrs O&AwA has always insisted on a real tree, and I have hated finding pine needles in the car until about July! We got a smaller car last year and we've paid quite a lot for some very average real trees in the last few years, plus the heating in the house usually sees the tree look rather poor by Christmas day , even with watering so we elected to invest in a good, artificial tree. We went for a Balsam Hill tree, probably the cheapest one they do, but it looks amazing. I assembled it last year before Mrs Andy came home from work but left in undecorated, I think it passed the test when she couldn't believe it wasn't real. OK so it will probably take six years to recoup our investment over a real tree.

Shame you missed the celebrations starting in Gran Canaria, I bet being a very religious place they will be very magical. I’m surprised that tree fit, I honestly thought walking back to the car we had finally bit off a tree bigger than we could chew! Yes same, pine needles turning up till way later in the year, worse when we used to have a carpeted lounge! Ah yes the heating is a big problem with real trees. We have to turn the heaters off around the tree which significantly lowers the temperature of the room. To be fair it’s a pretty cold apartment so the tree usually looks quite happy when it makes its final journey to the tip in January! Your tree sounds amazing Andy, im going to have a look for one now. There are some really great artificial ones available now.

I am not sure whether artificial Xmas trees or live trees are popular in the UK .. We have Palm Trees outdoor to decorate. You know how big the US goes. Many houses decorate the entire houses as if they are competing every year. So a little different from the UK. Although, this is about family spending time together and celebrate the holidays. You nailed it. You are about ready to arrange Xmas gift under the tree within its tree's aroma in the house. I see a little sneak peak..some creatures marching. its a real worry across Europe atm about how Putin will retaliate to American and British missiles being fired at Russia. I have a faked, white tree that I decorate in black, silver and red. And it's now some years old. Bought it when we moved to a bigger place. Before I had a tiny, black tree. And in Sweden it's tradition to "dance away Xmas" 20 days after Xmas Eve. And then the tree goes down. We celebrate the Xmas the 24th. Let's not cancel Christmas but cancel war.There was a national 'action' initiative years ago about rubbish. If every person would pick up one item daily and bin it, we'd have a clean world in a matter of months. Now, what if we smile and said hello to everyone we meet- regardless whether they return the greeting. Spreading love is a great way of creating a 'cleaner' world and bringing a healthier attitude and care for each other in all walks of life. End of sermon: Love your tree 🎄. We gave ours away last year. A lady picked it up for her dad who just moved into a senior unit after losing his wife during the year. She wanted to 'bring a bit of cheer' as he had sold the family home and gotten rid of so much stuff he ended up without decorations. Lovely to think his world was prettier over Christmas with our tree and lights. Our Christmas is as different as can be. So we ( Leen, his brother Arie and I) are escaping to a hotel for the dinner and Boxing Day breakfast. No more top layer generation 🥹! I will pretty up the place though with this and that. Just no tree. No 8 course meal either. Maybe next year again. Loved the video with various celebrations...and the Krampus Run. We will be having some sort of Light Trail here and a one weekend Christmas Market. Not sure about snow though 😅! Thanks for sharing and wishing you a Merry time these coming weeks. 🙏🩷🇳🇱🙋‍♀🥝

It doesn’t cost anything to be cheery and polite but not everyone wants to get on board unfortunately but ones like us try our best ❤️ Your Christmas does sound very different but very lovely too Nick and I have often spoke about going away for it but while his mum who we celebrate it with is still with us and loves Christmas but is very traditional we keep it as is where we go hers and after lessons from her early in our relationship where she always made the dinner I now have taken over the job allowing her the time off ❤️

Real or artificial trees, always a fun dilemma, and this video shows the best of both worlds. 🎄 The garden center’s snowy and fiber optic trees looked cool, but the lush real ones at the farm stole the show for me. The tip about keeping a slice of the tree to decorate was such a creative idea! Can't wait for the Scarborough Christmas Sparkle and Whitby Krampus. 🎅 Santa arriving by boat, sounds magical. Some fabulous decorations in the garden centre. All those real trees Made us laugh with the tree in the car, not much room. We try and put our tree up at the beginning of December. This year it was the 7th December due to Morgs shifts. Good evening Nick and Jill we have an artificial tree which is 14 years old and still looks good we do cover it with decorations all over and we think it still looks great. You can also go for a living tree Daves daughter has one which we look after throughout the year it's in its 3rd year now and gets a little bigger each year. We usually put ours up for the first week of December. Looking forward to your festive treats. Krampus is an odd but really fascinating one. Well my tree is up all year...up in the loft. I'd say sorry for the poor gag I use every year but it's true 😂It is a forever tree tho. Christmas seems to come earlier and earlier every year. I'm sure Putin won't spoil but I'm unsure about suspects closer to home. The Krampus run is pretty cool tho so I could get into Xmas for that bit. Look forward to seeing this years event 👍

Time to get ready for Xmas and the whole silly season. Karen and I are putting the artificial 🎄 up tomorrow. Unlike you guys, we are sweltering here in OZ, so it will be done in an air-conditioned living room but like you in the UK the price of everything has gone insane and the cost of electricity to run these aircons really stings bad. Regarding your intro, Nick, it just reinforces the live every day like it's your last saying. But cancel Christmas NEVER, although we are doing it differently this year!?!? We are fakers tree-wise, although I'd love a real one in the house. great spot on the reg Nettie, we gave it a good dusting off and thought we must have so many subs now that have never seen it. think last time it saw light of day we had about 500 subs! a real one to go outside sounds incredible and must bring so much joy to your neighbours! I’m pushing for a giant Santa Head on the balcony, looking through Black Friday sales atm for one! real trees are a pain if you have all carpets. I can remember having a real tree at my last place and I was still finding needles stuck in the carpet at Easter!

I can see that you're probably making the case for Christmas and I liked the video you made before about Britain, politics etc. but despite that, the deliberate click-bait title is enough for me to say goodbye to this channel. Even posing it as a question which you then argue against doesn't negate the harm you do by even putting this question out there. I've not seen you do one about cancelling eid or diwali. You wouldn't dare. Whatever message you had is lost thanks to promoting the idea of cancelling Christmas.

I did regret my decision to use the title Cancel Christmas originally for this video but I can state with 100% honesty that it was applicable for my state of mind when editing this video. I’m Republican/Reform through and through and have no interest or belief in starting a war with Russian, whose President has only ever been interested in leaving a legacy that rebuilds the USSR. that the most useless Democratic president of the free world decided to swan song practically on his sleepy death bed the right to fire missiles at Russia is insanely irresponsible and the fact that our two tier Kier followed him fills me with dread. my fears for Christmas are genuine. I love your suggestion for eld Diwali.. trust me, I’m not skirting the idea of covering this more fully..
