Also worth noting, that the accusations of Columbus were brought forward by a man who would have had a lot to gain from having Columbus removed as governor, as he became the next governor.

You are absolutely correct! As much as I love this channel, this particular video does not depict fairly nor accurately Christopher Columbus and the circumstances surrounding him. This is common among English speakers of Anglo Saxon background who lack understanding of Spain and its courageous Catholicism.

Canonisation of Columbus would likely attract even more contempt from the neo-Marxists, especially since it looks like the Church will rescind the doctrine of discovery. On that note, my question would be: will the Church also rescind Christ's command to evangelise and baptise all souls?

It is also worth noting that in South America and the Philippines the majority of the current population are indigenous with not a few mestizos/mestizas (part Spanish, part native). (The influx of Chinese in the Philippines is fairly recent). In North America and Australia, the indigenous people have become minorities.

In several accounts, it is said that the native Americans were awaiting the arrival of the Europeans before they even knew anything about Europe. Then I heard the story of Sister Mary of Agreda who used to bi-locate and preach to them. The lady in blue told them to expect the arrival of the Europeans. There's also the story of Our Lady Of Coromoto. There was a tribe that would not submit to the foreigners. Our Lady convinced their leader and they all converted. When Cortez' troop fought the Aztecs, they were greatly outnumbered by the natives. But some of the natives resented paying tribute to the Aztecs (some say they saw the chance to avoid ending up as human sacrifices for the Aztecs), so they fought alongside the Spaniards. In the Philippines, it is taught in all schools that Lapu-Lapu killed Magellan for the freedom of Filipinos. It was never stated why Magellan went to Lapu-Lapu's island. In one account (not known to many), Magellan was invited to dinner by Lapu-Lapu. He accepted the invitation because Lapu-Lapu was a relative of a tribe chief he just befriended. He was unaware that it was a set-up for an ambush. But from illustrations found almost anywhere you would get the impression that Magellan went there to fight Lapu-Lapu. You have to dig deep to find these stories. Most of the time, the Spaniards were portrayed as greedy conquistadors. As they say, history is written by the victors.

@@quiricomazarin476 He was too tolerant of Protestantism in his country’s. Should have been all in on Catholicism. What do you mean by losing the faith? I’m also not convinced he was a very "Trad" Catholic but yet he was. Built 2500 Churches, closed Fr33mason lodges and threw it’s members in work c/\mps, disallowed pagan & other occult stuff etc. And he couldn’t possibly stayed at "home". When you start the "war" (I mean figuratively) with the banks, they’ll destroy you. History has shown that too many times. The Red poison would be In Portugal/Spain if he didn’t make the "1st move". They had all their "stuff" at the borders, ready to go till the end. The Bald guy on the other hand - was probably envious and wanted his own glory and went where he should not have went (if you know history). Franco had too many commies inside, took too much & couldn’t join his "buddies". Understandable. Btw the many billion cookies roasted story - is fake (even just mathematically without any other evidence. Even though there is plenty).

The Spanish did not colonized in the English sense of the word... they expanded their kingdom by ways of viceroyalties... in many cases more prosperous than Spain itself... the so-called independence movement had two driving forces.. the English masons infiltration ( and fragmentation ) in the local governments and the French ( Napoleon ) invasion of Spain... in fact local indigenous groups were better off under the Catholic King and fought alongside King's forces to retain unity... the real exploitation of the Indians came after the independence...

Really simple: 1. Explorers discover, which is to say, they uncover what was previously unknown to those who were exploring the world. The natives, on the other hand, weren't discovering, but living in simplicity. 2. More profoundly, the gospel of Christ finally reached the natives for them to discover the truth of Christ. 3. The sorry state of sin among mankind occurs whether or not new races are encountered. Christians are not perfect. Some fall into mortal sins. Some repent and others don't. One-third of the angels rebelled and were cast to Hell. Would you not suppose that natives killed other natives whether it was within their own tribes or other tribes?
