PlayStation 3-exclusive shooter Starhawk will feature a score penned by award-winning composer Christopher Lennertz, it has been confirmed.
Lennertz is no stranger to the world of videogames, having previously worked on a number of high-profile series including Mass Effect, Medal of Honor and Gun. He's also cut his teeth in a number of films and TV shows over the years, including Horrible Bosses, Alvin and the Chipmunks, Think Like A Man and Supernatural.
Said Lennertz: "When scoring a video game, you are creating the environment for the player through the music. You are hitting specific actions of the player. The music in a video game can be shown off a little unlike in a film because dialogue is not a huge contender."
"The music has a very demanding role," he added.
Starhawk is the spiritual successor to Warhawk, and takes place in the distant future where humans have begun colonising other planets. The action centres on Emmett Graves, an individual who has been infected with riff energy, thus rendering him an Outcast.
Starhawk introduces a number of new gameplay elements, including the inclusion of real-time strategy mechanics allowing gamers to build various structures in the heat of battle.
