Do you want me to make another video about the Parkening Method, continuing through the book after this one? If so, let me know in the comments.

@@robertmac7833 Thanks for the request! I have further Parkening method videos on my list of possible future videos. I will also add the Carcassi method to my list of possible future videos. I have already made videos on a couple of Carcassi studies, such as this one: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZqfGlqWYqsmfjtk

@@SeanBeavers1 I’ve worked through a lot of the Carcassi book and several of the etudes. I recently bought off Amazon Parkening book 1, (to replace my lost copy) and have vol 2 on order. I also own his other books with transcriptions off his records. Lol, most of them out of my reach, for example his arrangement of The Girl With The Flaxen Hair. Waaaaaaaaaay out of my league! But I can dream. I’m really tight on Bach’s C Major prelude, although I took most of it from Per Olav Kindgren here on KZbin. A SUPERB player! Parkening plays it lowered D, capo second fret, and he throws in some really difficult chords. Mostly, I work on arranging tunes I like with my own arrangements..lots of tunes from the 70’s, Broadway tunes, pop, and especially TV show theme songs, and things like that, but I don’t ignore straight classical pieces. Lots of Carcassi and Sor and Giiulianni, and just got my first Sagreras book the other day off Amazon. If the music or melody is beautiful or lovely, I’m open to it. I also have every book that’s ever been published with Atkin’s arrangements. They keep me busy. Tough stuff! You need some chops to play his arrangements! So I guess it’s fair to say I’m pretty eclectic. Well, I’ve talked your ear off! TTYL

Justin Johnson played bass drum with his thumb on the bass string throughout and plays melody with the other strings. He is a blues player.

Can you please tell me which what grade is this book? And vol.2 as well. Please, I need to know.
@SeanBeavers1 Жыл бұрын
These books are not carefully correlated with grades. Here is what I would say: Parkening Method 1 - Preparatory through Grade 2 Parkening Method 2 - Grade 3 through 5

@@SeanBeavers1 this means a lot. Thank you. I have been practicing on my own. And now I'm half way on vol.2. But I've no idea how grade 1 or 5 are. So, I wanted to know how good I'm. Just to tell people that I'm of that grade even if I've never appeared any exams. I guess, I can now say, I'm grade 5 😁 Thanks once again 😊

I like the idea of saying the notes outlook when writing sheet music by hand. Sean, I play songs instead of going through a book of lessons. I know about Christopher Parkening. He is worldwide famous. Is this book would having in my collection of classical guitar lesson books?

Saying the notes out loud can be quite helpful. I believe adding this book to your collection could be helpful if you want an orderly overview of fundamental topics on playing the guitar.
