I love how they show the words they are singing with the translation. Then you realize how hard it is to pronounce, much less sing, such hard words. No matter what language we speak, we can all love one another.

What a masterpiece! I do not care whether it's their native language or not but what I know is they put a lot of work into this. I wish them well and pray they experience peace like they have shared with the rest of the world!

There are so many posts on of this wonderful choir. Every one of the amazing songs uses someone else for the solo and each voice fits the solo for that song perfectly!

พอฟังเพลงนี้ แวบแรกทำให้คิดถึง Lisa Melton ขึ้นมา สักวัน ฉันจะต้องมีโอกาสไปวางดอกไม้ที่หลุมศพของเธอ ขอบคุณพระเจ้าและแม่พระที่เปิดโอกาสให้ลูกได้รู้จักเธอค่ะ

Finally we see epic music with an epic message on ancestral words. The world becomes one tribe... A mighty brave future..._

+kummer45 Well, I understand your message. I want to point out that modern Xhosa is pretty much alive in South Africa and borrowed word from Afrikaan and English. It is a great thing that you can heard Xhosa in South Africa's anthem.

My home language. I am from South Africa and this sounds lovely but you can tell that it is not sung by it's native people.

Buseka gcaba I think it's a rather special thing to have a language be so widely known that non-native speakers sing it.

Yes. Xhosa is one of the "Click" languages. Basically VERY difficult to near impossible for non-native speakers or someone who has not invested a number of years to learn the clicks and intonations. However, it is a fantastic attempt to put the music of Xhosa out there. I agree this is sung in "English" pronunciation, but to sing it in Xhosa dialect would require resetting the music to compensate for the Xhosa dialect (which would substantially change the setting.

That is the entire feel of the album.. And it is how it is meant to be Hearing local dialects in songs won't be different to what you would listen to everyday. Having people who have never heard of your language or spoken a single word, sing an entire song.. Now that is special.

The Angel City Chorale played this song in different days with two different singers. Since none of them was worse or better than the other, I decided to insert both of them in one video

The song is dang by eight different ranges, like Soprano 1,2, Altos 1,2, Tenors, 1,2 and Basses 1,2. The first part is sang by a Tenor 2, because it fits his range without straining. In the middle of 3:07 is sang by a Tenor 1, that fits his range quite nicely. Now you know.👍

I like this song. Until the white guy gets to his solo. His discordant, unpleasant voice and the part where he says "wonke" (sounds like "wonky", means "messed up" or "broken", usually referring to something mechanical, in English) just ruin it for me from that point on; I have to stop it before it gets there.
