Climbing Kalymnos | Kerveros*** (7a)

Is this the best 7a on Kalymnos? Our Rock Fax guide seems to think so... Mid way through our Kalymnos trip we decided to do a day up at Sparticus area and we couldn't have picked a worse day for it haha... Since getting to Kalymnos we had awesome conditions, lots of wind and cool temps, this was the first morning we experienced the heart and humidity turning the rock into a molten mess of chalk and polish, but do you think that would stop us???
First of the day was Kerveros, an incredible route up the left hand side of the cave, big moves on jugs and pockets with a couple of hard moves in there, the holds were a bit soapy from the chalk and humidity so Im pretty happy to pull off an onsite as the days warm up.
Brilliant route and an absolute classic. Thankfully conditions got better the next few days :-)

Chris, so great to watch this a year after! I start to appreciate all these videos. Coming from Kalymnos the memories were stronger but now the videos psyche me up for next time. Kerveros was indeed kinda destroyed by traffic.

I love how much you actually appreciate the vids, cant wait till the world is normal again and we can hit kaly hard!!! this time on sighting and filming 8a's 😉 I remember this climb so well mate, everyone had told us of these soapy conditions on kalymnos and we had been climbing a week with perfect conditions until this morning 🤣 This was my first day of slippery holds and it confused me so much 😛 I bet the first ascent of this route felt incredible!!!!
