I am v grateful for this series on Schopenhauer!! I had been a fan of S but only on a superficial level. I wonder if you could consider doing a segue to Nietzsche, showing S's influences on him and how they contrast. Your show does a huge service, because practically speaking ordinary folks like myself may have the original books, but never get around to reading them, since they are not v reader friendly. Yet they are essential reading.

@@ChristopherAnadale Yes, a huge project, which is why I hesitate to ask for something where you end up doing all the legwork and heavy lifting, whilst I simply sit back and imbibe. Strictly only if you get the urge!! I do understand and appreciate the efforts you have already made. It's like 'do the job once and now its yours' haha. I really like Schopenhauer and feel he was really hard done by and I hope he comes through once and for all in the popular imagination. Whereas from what I know of Nietzsche's stuff quite difficult to execute, though he seems v popular.

Great series! I've got a new positive view on pessimism! Happiness is ephemeral and attached to the opposite. How true and realistic is this guy! Keep it up especially the commentary because I can't seem to understand parts of it( especially Nietzsche). Thank you so much!

If this is the last lesson concerning counsels and maxims, I must say that it was an absolute pleasure. One which is not limited by any boundaries and one that brought me much bliss. Your way of explaining and going through this book has captured me, as pleasures captures the heart of man. And my intent is to get this book, as for a long had I willed but waited until you was finished.

I think the third set if teeth likely refers to the wisdom teeth that are often described as the third and final set of teeth to emerge. Usually in young adulthood and hence (hopefully) arrive at a time of wisdom...hence their name
