The tenuto articulations are so appreciated! Sounds like the brass section of the NY Phil (excessive tenuto).
@Snommelp5 жыл бұрын
So, Jim used everything from contrabass up to soprano, right? I didn't imagine that? I don't think I saw a piccolo, but I also wouldn't be surprised if he pulled one of those out too. That's some talent there, I'm jealous of all of you guys who are able to play across such a wide spectrum of the trombone family.
@gabe51205 жыл бұрын
They are amazing, but the alto trombone is the only trombone in a different key all of the others require a different mouth piece, they're the same key, and same positions, just in different octaves. So if you play the tenor trombone all of the other trombones are easy to learn.
@Snommelp5 жыл бұрын
@@gabe5120 I would contest that; I found learning the new positions of the alto to be substantially easier than retraining my embouchure for the soprano (besides which, the slide length is so different between tenor and soprano that having the "same positions" is not particularly useful). Also, it looked like Jim had an F contrabass (though I could be mistaken), which would be another one with different slide positions.
@gabe51205 жыл бұрын
@@Snommelp I agree, I'm good at embouchure but I know that different mouthpieces can be hard, for me it's positions that I have a problem switching between.

I know you probably won’t see this Christopher but I have a question, what is a good way to better at double/triple tonguing?
@louisferdinando5495 жыл бұрын
I'm not Christopher but lots of mouth piece work. I also used to walk around and double and triple tongue to myself like a weirdo. It got the job done.
@t6turbogaming2275 жыл бұрын
It’s the same person you committed on, did you walk around with your mouthpiece always or just double and triple tongue like all the time
@louisferdinando5495 жыл бұрын
@@t6turbogaming227 I didn't carry my mouth piece around. But I would practice the syllables for double and triple tongue when I walked to class sometimes. I would take a breath and do almost a flute embouchure to give myself a little resistance. Like everything, if you can nail it with out the instrument then it will be easier with it
